Blogger Blacklisted from WDW

Urban explorers are pretty common but they usually stick to abandoned places and just take photos. This guy was pushing it going into some of the areas he went into.

I don't think that he should have been banned for life but Disney is of course well within their rights to do so.

The finger scan makes no difference anyway. They let you pick your own finger. My hubby uses his middle finger, I always use my left index finger.
All Adam has to do is use a different finger.

On a new ticket... ;)

He broke the rules.
There are signs that say : authorised personell only. That is the companys way of telling you not to go there.

You want to see what's backstage?
Take a backstage tour or get a job at Disney.

Don't sneak places you arent supposed to be. No idea what laws are in the US, here it's simply breaking and entering (yes even without breaking anything...) and against the law.

Simple.

I saw all the "I won't go back to Disney until they let Adam Woo back in!" all over Disney's FB. I googled it a few days ago but found no info. But no knowing he went backstage and tried to film it, I don't feel bad for him. If you love Disney so much, don't blatantly break the rules like that.

And that was a terrible video. I also feel like I'm going to vomit because of how the video was filmed.

Excellent. The more people that don't go until they let Adam Woo back in, the less people in my way in line at POTC! :cool1:

And those who are saying "why no warning"...he had a warning. There are signs all over the place saying DO NOT ENTER; RESTRICTED, and I'm sure PRIVATE PROPERTY. There's your warning.

Exactly! :thumbsup No warning, my foot...

I have no sympathy for someone who knowingly breaks the rules.

He knew what he was doing, and knew the risks.

Me thinks turning him into a donkey on Pleasure Island is in order. ;)

Agreed. Disney has no responsibility to sit down with an adult and explain to them that going into posted areas is trespassing. If someone is old enough to be wandering around on their own, they're old enough to be responsible for their own actions. In my family, if you demonstrate you can't be trusted to be responsible, you lose rights and privileges; Disney's doing much the same thing here.

The main difference is that I'll usually give a relative another chance sometime in the future; Disney isn't offering that. But I'm tied to family members by bonds of blood and/or affection. Why should a corporate entity like Disney be expected to show the same mercy to this guy as a parent would to a child or a brother to a sister?

Did I miss something? Did Adam apologize for his actions, or even admit he was in the wrong? All I heard was him pretty much saying "I wasn't doing anything when they booted me" over and over, only giving a the tiniest of nods to his prior expeditions. If so I need to go back and review his last video. I don't think he gets it.

I have absolutely no problem with this guy getting a life time ban and all this talk about "he should have had a warning" is frankly a load of old tripe! He knew what he was doing was wrong and he thought he was being clever. It backfired and he got what he deserved. He had plenty of warnings... they are called "DO NOT ENTER" signs or "CAST MEMBER ONLY" signs!

He broke the rules. Period.

The fact of the matter is, WDW is private property and they don't have to let anyone in if they don't want to. Just like you or I don't have to let someone in our house or business. They don't need a reason, even though in this case they have plenty of reasons. This guy thought doing what he did was clever, that he was "getting one over" on Disney. The last laugh was with the Mouse, mister!

:rotfl2:

Heh. I wonder if I'd get in trouble if I bought and wore one of his shirts into the park on my upcoming trip.
