Saw this posted on the pricing thread and it confused me a bit...

Confirmed that the NYC cruises are all blackout dates for OBB, you still get the OBC and half deposit, but no 10% discount on the cruise fare.

Disney Magic - October 7, 2016 (8-night NYC to Bahamas)
2A1C(3)
No insurance/No OBB
5C - $6047.28
9A - $5391.28
9B - $4767.28
9C - $4687.28

Does this mean we can use our already-booked OBB on the NYC sailing, but we just won't get a 10 percent discount?

Exactly, you can transfer your OBB to the NYC cruise and it will carry over your OBC ($200) and the half deposit but no 10% discount off the cruise fare.

Thanks for the update -- I wasn't aware the reduced deposit remained in effect, that's good to know!

yes, I can confirm this as I did it this afternoon. However, I asked about the reduced deposit and was told no. Then I called back half an hour later (after reading the DISboards) and WAS able to get the reduced deposit! Yay! I only had to pay an additional $300 deposit to book the NYC cruise - much better than the $1000 deposit I was first quoted!

So, I transferred my OBB and got the reduced deposit and $200 OB credit, but not 10% off the cruise (oh well). Still great for me as I need to pay off my on board account from the PC cruise I just got off - LOL!

Yes, you keep the deposit benefit on blackout dates. I think I had this wrong on some threads recently; goes to show how I shouldn't post from memory...

Here's the correct rundown of OBB benefits (I believe)

- First two non-concierge staterooms on 3-6 day cruise on non-blackout date: 10% base fare discount, $100 per room OBC
- First two non-concierge staterooms on 7+ day cruise on non-blackout date: 10% base fare discount, $200 per room OBC, 10% deposit requirement (vs. 20% normally)
- First two non-concierge staterooms on 3-6 day cruise on blackout date: $100 per room OBC
- First two non-concierge staterooms on 7+ day cruise on blackout date: $200 per room OBC, 10% deposit requirement (vs. 20% normally)
- All rooms after the first two, and all concierge rooms, on 3-6 day cruise: $100 per room OBC (unadvertised benefit subject to change any time)
- All rooms after the first two, and all concierge rooms, on 7+ day cruise: $200 per room OBC (unadvertised benefit subject to change any time)
- All rooms on 2 day cruises: nothing

If you move a booking onto or off of a blackout date, or from a short to a long cruise, the discount/OBC/deposit for the new sailing applies. If your deposit goes down as a result, you can get a refund. If the deposit goes up, you need to pay the difference within a few days. If you book concierge, or move to a concierge room, the deposit becomes non-refundable, even if you move back to a non-concierge room.
