I was talking to a Disneyland sales manager last night at a travel agent function, and asked about blockout days for APs for the 50th. I had heard rumours that July 17th was going to be a blockout day even for the Premium APs. I emailed Disneyland about it a few weeks ago and got a response that basically they didn't know what they were going to do yet.

The sales manager last night said that the 17th will not be a blockout day for the Premium AP.

That was what I figured. Since they "sell" the premium as being good for 365 days a year it would be difficult to "black out" the one day.

The deluxe which normally is good on that day (Sunday) will be "blacked out."

We're Premium AP holders. When we got our renewals in the mail for this year, there was a little note saying that the day before the 50th Anniversary that they'd be closed for preparations or something like that. I really didn't look too carefully at it. Truthfully, I wouldn't be going to DL in the middle of the week. But I'm sure someone else on the boards may have commited the date to memory.

They will be closed on the 4th of May but they will be open the week of the actual birthday (July 17th)

I know all passes except the PAP will be invalid but the one thing I have heard is they will not be doing their normal stage closing ie noone has "well I'm guarenteed..." entrance Itll be first come first serve

Currently I dont know if I'll have a PAP for that day (mine expires the 15th) so we shall see :) -em

Disneyland is closed on May 4, in order to prepare for the whole 50th celebrations which start on May 5.

There had been rumours that they would be blocking out the Premium APs for the 50th (July 17, which is a Sunday) because they're expecting massive crowds.

Yes the Premium AP isn't supposed to have blockout days, but that doesn't mean that Disney isn't free to alter that if they want to, as per their website: "All terms and conditions of the Annual Passports continue to apply, and all benefits including, but not limited to, admission privileges continue to be subject to change or cancellation without notice at any time. Disney not liable for claims arising from change in operating hours or closures of theme parks."

I for one, would expect, that if they black out the Premium Annual Passes for this day that there will be a heck of a lot of unhappy pass holders. It would have been different if they had "blacked it out" before people purchased or renewed.

I do not expect them to black it out.

I have heard [rumors] that they may have some sort of "hard ticket" party. My guess is that this would be an "after hours" party, which might mean the park would close sooner (much sooner) then the normal 12-mid closure.
