Blockout Day Ticket questions

We have So Cal Annual Passholder tickets.

Our next trip includes a Saturday which is a blackout day for us. (All Saturdays are). I know it's 40.00 to attend on a blackout date but I have a couple of questions:

1) Where do you purchase this blackout date ticket? The regular ticketbooth or somewhere else?

2) Can it be purchased the day/night before? (Friday for Saturday admittance)

I had to purchase Block out ticket for my daughter in May and it was only sold the day of, at the ticket booth (And maybe Guest relations booth?) We just went to a ticket booth. She had to be there and show her id and Annual pass. They gave her a ticket to use that day for fast passes and entrances. Wow it was $30 in May now its $40. Even block out tickets are getting expensive!!
