Blocking calls from others on your cell phone...

is there any way to block people from calling your cell phone?

I do not even want to know that they are calling me, just want to block the number.

I can do it on my home phone but have no clue how to do it on my cell.

I asked this question about 4 years ago and was told that there is no way to block a number on a cell. If there is I'd like to know also.

My carrier told me the same thing - no way to do it.

Here's what I did. I created a group on my phone and named it "Ignore". Then if I have any numbers I want to block, I add the number to that group. Then I set the settings for that group and made their ringtone "silent". If your phone doesn't have group settings, you can just set each number individually - rename it Ignore and set its ringtone to be "silent".

Now when That Person calls, I see that I have a missed call, but I never hear it ring, and all I see is that my missed call was from "Ignore", so I do.

We have Verizon Wireless, and for a fee, you can block specific phone numbers from calling your cell phone. My DH set this up online a couple of months ago when DS21's ex-GF wouldn't stop calling him. I belive it's $5.99 per month.
