How long does the Block Party last? What are the best viewing spots? And... does everyone make a B-Line for Disneyland or their hotels when the party is over? Just trying to get a handle on Sunday crowd patterns here. Thanks.

Block party is alot of fun.

The first time we watched it, we sat on the cement benches, where the band usually is, facing Taste Pilot Grill. But more towards BugsLand. From there, the main section we saw was ToyStory. (Bugs Life was behind them, right across from Brrrbank, more at the main entrance), and Monsters Inc was in front of them. So the order is Monsters, ToyStory, and Bugs. They all go by you, but one section stops in front of you, and does the 'bash' for about 15 minutes. They do acrobats and dance to about 4 songs. They get your kids to dance on the street. They also throw out little nerf balls at the end that say Block Party Bash on them.

The second time we wanted to see Monsters, so we sat across from Bugs Land, right by Grizzly Peak. That was a good spot.
It isnt like the parades at DL. The crowds aren't so bad, you only need to get a seat about 1/2 hour prior. We grabbed food, got it to go, and sat and ate it while we waited. The crowds after aren't bad either. We went and did more rides afterwards.

The green army men do a little show all the way along the parade route that is really funny.

On the CA map it shows little stars on the parade route where they stop. Just remember, if you want to see certain ones, sit according to the order.
Monsters Inc.--first
Toy Story --second
Bugs Life--third

So if you want to see Monsters, sit in the first part of the stars, Toy Story, sit in the middle of the stars, Bugs, sit in the back of the stars.

They stop at about 3-4 different 'bash zones' too.

Hope this helped and didn't confuse you more!! :teeth:

We saw it last night and sat in the first bash zone. We were right at the end of Monsters Inc section but before the bugs. Right infront of some trampoline. We got there right at just after 5 and it started at 5:15. There was a a few people sitting on a bench so I stood right behind them while the sweetpea sat on the ground in front of them. It lasted about 15 mins or so. A lot of the park did seem to exit after. But not enough. Lots made a B- line for Monsters Inc ride. If you have small children who aren't afraid to participate definately make sure you get right in front. Kids are encouraged to play around and dance.

The order of the groups last night were:
Toy Story
Monsters Inc
Bugs Life

I would make a point to see it. Its really fun. Sweetpea likes it a lot. That was our main reason for going last night. Enjoy.

My niece got to dance twice in a row, her and my sister watched it at Bugs land.....
My father I and son were resting over by Golden Dreams.. not my first choice.. :P But Father had his own ideas.
Anyway we were to the right of golden dreams if facing paradise pier... almost the last bench that is in front of Golden dreams. We were the middle float. I took DS walking to see the other characters, as he wasn't into dancing, and my sister and niece came before the parade got to us so she (my niece) got to dance with them twice.!

Also there was NO ONE waiting for the parade where I was.... it was a little annoying with people walking everywhere, but once it came about an hour after the scheduled time on the program....... to the last section, it was fun. :)

I agree with RiverGallery, the later in the parade the less people. Down by the SF POFA building is a great place to watch the BPB. My DS is getting quite a collection of little rubbers they launch at the end of the stop. He usually gets out front and dances with the CM's and then hurries to the back to wait for the ball launch.

If you find the pin trading hut and you sit in front of it or slightly to the right of it(your right facing the hut that is) you will be right where Buzz Light Year stops!
