Has anyone done Blizzard Beach with a baby?! :confused3

DH looooooves Blizzard Beach and is counting the days until he gets to ride Summit Plummet again, but we will also have our 7 month old baby boy with us!

I imagine just playing in the shallows of the wave pool and maybe holding him as we bob around the lazy river...

Is there anything else remotely possible that we could do with our little bubba while we're there?

Scratch that - is there anything else I could do with him, while my husband goes crazy on the waterslides?! ;)

I couldn't imagine being at the water park with a 7 month old.

If I wanted to go, I would probably go to the water park and let me wife and baby stay back at the resort and go to that pool or do something else.

I would split up that day. You nor baby will have very much fun imo. Maybe hang out around the resort or go to downtown Disney?

I agree with pp's. Save a few bucks and mom can play with baby at the resort pool. Plus that day baby could get in a decent nap in the room. Maybe dad could just do morning at BB and then meet up with you guys after naptime?

The kids area is nice. You can sit in the shallows and let him splash. The lazy river would be fun too. If you get there early you can snag a shaded chair and that will help.

Hmm, thanks all, you've definitely given us something to think about!

We're going in November so BB will be weather dependent anyway... Might just have to see how our little one is doing and decide closer to the time whether to take him or not. :)

As a mom of six I don't think I'd enjoy sitting around with a busy 7 month old in that setting. I'd drop DH of at BB and head to the outlet malls or DTD or something. Just enjoy some fall sun until nap time.
Alternatively, I think DH would likely skip this excursion this trip & we'd all do something together to chill out.

we have been to typhoon lagoon with a baby twice but never blizzard beach. We played in the water and then she had a nap and we took turns doing the slides (nap is like 2 hours or more). We took her on the family raft ride...it was not pleasant as it was far too intense for a baby (although we did it again with our next baby also and it was equally unpleasant)

Blizzard Beach is my lovely husband's favourite thing about Disney World. We're staying there for 7 nights... I definitely want him to have a play there!!

Whether or not I go with our baby is another story. We'll just wait and see on this one, I think! :)

I keep our 7 month old grandson and I am not sure about spending a day there.
Your advantage is that it would not be too hot and sunburn would not be a huge worry like it would if you went now.
We took ours when they were little and I remember spending many hours on the lazy river while they napped. I kept a large white tshirt draped over them to protect from sun and occasionally sprinkled water on it to keep them cool.
He could enjoy sitting with you in a tube in the wave pool.
He could also love watching the bigger kids in the play areas.
At 7 months they can sit up but can topple so I would sit right next to them at the water's edge. I can also see our baby trying to eat sand and anything else they can get in their mouth.
You also can try it and if it doesn't work, take a bus back and let DH get one when he is done.

I wouldn't bring a baby to BB. We went on a trip when my DS#1 was 6 months, and most of my family went to BB, I went to Epcot instead and enjoyed a nice leisurely time walking around WS.

If you are set on the idea, what about renting a cabana, that way you'll have a set area with shade that is a little more quiet.

You could always get a Fairy Godmother to watch your little one while you and DH enjoy a day at BB... maybe even top it off with a meal!

We are going to a water park for the first time next trip, mostly because older DD is tall enough to ride just about everything. We have been back and forth as to if I will go with our little DD (who will be 14 months). Right now, we're thinking about having a babysitter in the room so we can go with older DD and doing lunch at TRex. Hoping little one will have a chance to rest up from the excitement of the previous few days so we can enjoy the rest of the trip!

I could have written this. Going 11/16 with DD (age 5), DS (will be 7 months), DH and MIL. I think it will be fine. I'm assuming I will be in Tikes Peak for most of the time. We were thinking of getting a cabana. Worst case I head back to the hotel with DS while the others stay.

Yowza, just found the price of a cabana... Maybe not!

Beach umbrella could work though.

But again, it's all dependent on the weather and primarily, how our baby is, if we go to BB or not. This trip will be much more laid back and flexible than our previous ones, with baby on board! :)

Thanks for all your advice!

you don't need a cabana anyway you can bring your stroller right in just use a UV stroller net
