Hi, I really don't know if this has been asked in the forum before, but as I can't find anything here I go...

We are going to WDW in late May and we only have 1 day to spend in one of the water parks. I have 3 small kids (4, 6, 8). I would like to know which one (TL or BB) would be more fun. :confused3

They are both really fun parks. I do think with younger children, you might be better off at TL, however. BB does have some more "thrilling" and challenging slides than TL. TL also seems to have more shade than BB and the lazy river and wave pool at TL are really nice. I do think your family would have fun at both, but if I had to choose one , I would go with TL. JMO. Good Luck and have FUN!! :sunny:

I would say TL. I would also go to disneyworld.com and read about each ones rides. It was a wealth of information for us. Now that the kids are older, we do both. But when we had to decide on one our first time visiting we read about the rides at each. I hope this helps.

TL for sure in my opinion. We did TL when our girl were 7 and 9 and BB when they were 9 and 11. We enjoyed a few particular slides at BB but overall the whole family preferred TL. We love the shark swim and it seems to me there were several areas for younger kids. LOTS more shade at TL as well. Have fun! :)

We visited TL 2 years ago when our kids were 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12. They all really enjoyed it. The older kids loved the wave pool and the slides. The youngest liked the wave pool, too. They could stay in the shallows and still enjoy the waves. They had a separate area for smaller children which was really great. We talked to some teenagers on the bus who had just been to Blizzard Beach, and they thought the big slides there were pretty rough.

sorry I have to disagree. Last trip my youngest had just turned 6 and they both liked BB better. They said the kid's area in TL was "for babies". They got knocked down by the waves and the bigger people who got tumbled into them. They thought the lazy river was boring. They did like the family raft ride but it's much shorter then BB's, plus at BB I didn't have to drag the raft up the hill. They heard the word shark and refused to swim with them.

They absolutely loved BB! They spent the entire day in Ski Patrol, which is set up for kids under a certain height, they keep the teens out. They have kid sized slides, a zip line, and "ice bergs" that you walk across the pool on. The water isn't very deep so even my barely 44" dd was able to play without having to worry about it being to deep. I was able to sit and watch them go without having to be right on top of them for every ride. Ds12 was able to do some of the bigger slides and find his way back with no problems. They also have an area for preschoolers called Tykes Peak, but your 4 yr old would probably be happier with the bigger kids in Ski Patrol.

Blizzard Beach has statistically been much more appealing to teens and adults. Typhoon Lagoon tends to be more "family friendly" (which is a funny term considering all of WDW is family friendly). BB seems to be more slide-oriented and I am NOT a slide person so TL really is the better of the two for ME. It seems to *typically* be a bigger hit with younger kids as well. Of course, there's always the exception.

Ditto Disgirl. WE love TL. They have great shady areas and it was much better for younger kids. Although I have to say the family raft ride is better and longer at BB. Caution if you try the shark reef . . . kids must be able to get to the other end of the "pool" area. Lifeguards are there to help and I saw many doing just that but I couldn't believe the number of people putting their kids in there because they could wear a life vest. The kids seemed really scared and didn't have enough swimming ability to be put in this situation.

When Typhoon Lagoon opened we went there ALOT and loved it. After Blizzard Beach opened, we tried that out and liked it much better. While the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon is fun, it is also dangerous when crowded. I also felt that BB had better kid areas. BB was rated the #2 Water Park in the country a few years ago on the travel channel. The first was in Wisconisin.
My DSIL is just returning tonight from Disney. We told them to go to BB over TL. The SS Concierge told them to go to TL since they have Water Rollercoaster. They went to BB and enjoyed it, but felt that Hurricane Harbor in NJ was comparable or better. :confused3 But she is also the one who cannot see why we keep going back to Disney.

I'll vote for BB. My son is not as adventurous as my daughter and prefers the under 12 area at BB. Also, the wave pool is more calm. That being said if your kids are thrill seekers and great swimmers either would be great for your family.

Our family really loved the tropical feel and atmosphere at TL. It was just so relaxing and fun :sunny: . But we also loved BB! So whatever you choose, you'll have a great time!

For kids your age, I'm guessing TL. I love thrills and BB is the place for me, but this year we are trying a half day at TL because we have the time, and I want to try something new. But in your situation, I'd definetly go to TL. Reading about the rides and having been to BB, the croud at BB is definetly more teens seeking thrills. TL is alot more "chill" :rotfl2: . Have fun!!! :thumbsup2

Oh and by the way DisneyMomJen, the #1 waterpark was voted Shlitterbahn in Texas. Sorry if I sound rude, but I actually watched that show on the Travel Channel recently, and I've also been there!

Thank you all for your feedback. I think I'll go to TL now, and BB for our next trip. So that way I have an excuse to come back again... :thumbsup2

We loved TL!! Our kids were 6&7 went we last year! We are going to one water park again this year and we decided because we loved TL we would return there! The kids loved the wave pool! :cheer2:

I like BB much better than TL. We didn't even bother going to TL last year when we were at WDW for 14 days.

I think for families with teens BB is better. I love the Teamboat Springs family raft ride. However I prefer TL overall due to the tropical theming and more recently Crush n Gusher. DH loves the wave pool. We live in New England and the gleaming sun reflecting off all the "melting" plastic snow at BB just doesn't do it for me!
