i've read on other posts that people 'base themselves' in a certain area. do the water parks have chairs/loungers where you can leave your towel to keep coming back to? is it ok to leave your there all day (obviously with valuables in lockers!)?

Yeah, you can 'camp out' at a spot, some people stick an elderly relative or a sun worshiper there the 'guard' their patch but others just dump their stuff and run of for fun

lol we are dump and run people! is it ok to just leave your stuff or does it ever get moved by someone else?

It's OK to leave your stuff - as long as it's nothing valuable. We leave t-shirts, hats, water, etc but all valuables are in the locker.

Never seen anyone move anything in umpteen visits to both parks.

The staff certainly don't move anything and it's unlikely another guest would but that's the risk you take. Given the lack of Germans i'd dump and run!

We are just back and visited TL 3/4 times. We prefer TL as there is always (usually anyway) more space than BB where sunbeds are much more closely packed together. We arrived early on our last visit to find an umbrella to park under, close to Crushing Gusher - an area where you can invariably find vacant sunbeds even at peak times, in comparison to the main areas. After about 45 minutes, with still many unclaimed beds etc. a lady arrived with 4 children between 10 and 15 or so and decided to "share" our umbrella. It wouldn't have been so bad but gradually they surrounded the central pole (my wife had hung her sundress from the umbrella ) seeming to push us further out by moving up against my wife's bed as she lay in the sun. Come lunchtime and the sun had moved so that we had no shade at all so finally I had to "politely" ask them to move over so that we could get some shade under our umbrella. There was a mumbled apology and they moved - to their original position.

Perhaps we Brits are too polite sometimes. Certainly we would never have thought of going to sit under an umbrella when people were already present - or am I wrong? :confused3

In answer to the original post - we tend to dump and run too, but keep cash and credit card in the waterproof plastic case that you can buy to go around your wrist. Nothing has ever been moved or gone missing.
