We are leaving in 15 days, so I have officially started to pack. I was looking at the boys swimsuits and noticed that they have plastic rivets on them. Do I need to take them off? I know it says "swimwear with rivets, buckles or exposed metal is not permitted", but do plastic rivets count and does anyone know how to take off the metal rivets? I have been to waterparks before where they do this without any problem, but have never paid attention to see how they do it.

Don't know about the plastic rivets, but interested in how one would get them off (metal or plastic). I have punched rivets ONTO fabric before, which is basically making a hole through the fabric. I would think the fabric would fray when the rivet was removed since there is nothing to prevent it from raveling. I personally would run out and buy a new pair, on sale, of course. Maybe someone will know how it's done.

If it is the sort of rivet with a hole in the center you don't want to remove them, as your suit will fray and you'll end up with holes. What you should do is take a needle and thread and overstitch the plastic or metal with thread so that it is no longer exposed, but covered by the thread.
