Does any one have any info on the refurbishing times for Blizzard Beach. We've checked the park hours for October and all it says is...."hours not available" during the week we're visiting (10/29-11/5) . I'm assuming this means closed? We are taking some newbies with us who are dying to hit Summit Plummit and it will be a little disappointing if the park's not open.

If not, do any of the slides at Typhoon Lagoon compare to SP? - thanks, Nancy

according to the info right here on the DIS:
http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/rehab.htm#wp

"Walt Disney World Resort Water Parks has changed the refurbishment schedules for 2003. In the late fall and winter months of every year, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Parks undergo refurbishment.
This year, Blizzard Beach will undergo refurbishment starting Nov. 1, 2003, with Typhoon Lagoon to follow beginning in late December 2003. There will be at least one Water Park open during these rehab times."

Yep, they flip flopped the rehabs this year - Blizzard Beach is going first, so they will have time for an extended rehab of Typhoon Lagoon - supposed to add new attractions!!

Typhoon Lagoon does have the Humunga Kowabunga - not quite as high as the Summit Plummet, but big enough for my tastes!!

You can also do the shark swim at Typhoon Lagoon - and the wave pool is awesome.

Either way, you can't go wrong - have a great trip!

Thanks guys. That's great info because we'll get to do Blizzard Beach for a day before they close. Not that I'll get up on Summit Plummit myself but the daredevils in our party will for sure. Thanks again - Nancy

I was wondering the same thing....sorry to say I was just on Disney's site and the rehab of Blizzard beach is starting on Oct. 26 and will go throught the whole month of Nov. Typhoon Lagoon will be open though and they have some great water slides...

happiest is exactly right. hadjii, it looks like you pulled the same stunt I did; trying to get in on the tail end of the FTP. well, until they extended the dates, that is. I can say that I am extremely dissapointed and totally sympathize with you. This is our first trip in 15 years; and that was something we really wanted to see! oh well...atleast Typhoon Lagoon will be open, and we do get to be one of the 1st to ride Mission: Space.
