blizzard beach question

on July 19th (which is a Saturday) would you reccommend going to Blizzard Beach right away in the morning or later in the afternoon. I know both have been suggested to avoid crowds, but what has your experiences been. I just realized this day is a Saturday. Should I avoid the weekend altogether? We will be there for 7 days. Thanks for your help.

we have never been to Disney World before and I had planned on us going to BB on the 19th also, but after reading everything about doing water parks and going on the weekends I have changed our plans to do it on tuesday the 22nd. With all the locals being off work for the weekends, I read it can get pretty crowded no matter what time you go. But whatever day you choose to go ,have fun dont forget your sunscreen and drink plenty of water! Mimimom

Saturday is usually busiest day at the water parks - regardless of which day you go, would recommend to be there at park open and if possible go right to the slides so you can have a number of runs before the lineups build

If you are not at the Water Park at least 1/2 hour before the park opens, you may not have a chance to get a good place to set your stuff. The water parks were closing before noon when we were there just over a week ago. Or else, go after 3PM when the crowd empties out a bit.

As a side note, I was watching the Travel Channel yesterday. It had Blizzard Beach as America's #2 water park.

If you can, go during the week days, get there 30-45 mins. prior to the park opening and grab a spot. Enjoy.

In May at TL, we were there before opening near the entrance turnstiles

No problems with getting a locker, changed and then to a good spot but that was May on a weekday.....
