This will be our first trip where it will be hot enough for the water parks. We were planning on going to both parks, but I am not sure now because of DD. My DD is 7 and a farely good swimmer. However, we just came back from our local public pool and she would not go down the slide. I finally convinced her to try the slide once because of our trip in a couple of weeks. We get to the top and they said she could not wear her goggles down the slide. That did it! She was NO WAY going to go down the slide without her goggles on.

So, keeping all this in mind. Which water park is more kid friendly? Smaller slides, no slides and more pools, shady areas to rest, etc. Can kids go down the slides with their goggles on? This is huge!!!

If the water parks are just gonna be a hassle with me coaxing and proding we will wait until she is older.

She loves the water and swimming and playing, but the slides are not appealing to her. They are to myself and DH though!:teeth: HELP!!!!

They let my 5 year old son wear his goggles down the slides at TL and BB both.
If your DD doesn't like the slides then maybe you and your DH can take turns on the slides while the other stays with your DD stays in the wave pool.
TL has more shady areas and is more tropical. There is bobbing waves for 30 minutes and then it changes over to a really huge wave for body surfing for 90 minutes. Also at TL, they have milder slides and a smaller slide right in the wave pool for the kids that are around her age.

If your DD is afraid of slides than I would definitely recommend Typhoon Lagoon. TL has the wave pool, which you can enjoy with your goggles on from either out by the big waves or closer to shore where the waves are smaler. There are also some gentler slides, including a couple you can go down together. Enjoy.

The area set up for the young set, Ski Patrol TRaining Camp is cool. Lots of fun, with the walking on ice floats, very small raft ride, zip slide, lots of young kids. Fun area. If she tries and likes she may move up. Has a gentle wave pool, lazy river, awesome family raft ride she can be with you and sky lift.

Very cartoonish childlike atmosphere that I bet she will love !

I'm with HopperFan. BB offers a similar little kids area to TL, but the Ski Patrol Training Camp for older (maybe 5 - 10 yo) kids is great! Ditto the family raft ride and lazy river ride.
