Myself, DH and DD (14), DS (12) and DS (10) are going to Disney next month. We have an option left on a Park Hopper Ticket from last year. We did go to Blizzard Beach and had a blast. BUT if you could only go to one Water Park, which one would it be and why? Thanks so much for your advice!

Since you already did BB last time, I would probably go to TL. I really like the Shark Reef at TL- do you think your family would like snorkling? If so, definitly go there. -Steph

Depends on what you and your family like. BB is widely felt to have the better slides (along with that great ski lift to the top of Summit Plummet), but TL has the Shark Reef and a really kickin' wave pool. Since you did one last time, you might want to try the other one this time. Just for variety and so you can choose for yourself next time you go... :Pinkbounc

No matter which waterpark you pick, I hope you have a great time!

It depends on which theme you like. We prefer TL because we live in New England and see snow all winter. We love the tropical setting at TL. The wave pool is great and so is Castaway Creek to float around in. BB does have a better family raft, but all in all, we prefer TL!! :sunny: If you haven't been there, you should give it a try! I' m sure you'll have a great time at either one.

Did your kids enjoy the really big slides at BB? (Summit Plummet?) If so, I'd say that given their ages, they'll probably enjoy BB more. We LOVE Typhoon Lagoon. But our son is 8, and the big draw for him is Shark Reef. The slides are nice, and we love TeamBoat Springs at BB, but Shark Reef is his thing. TL really doesn't have the slides that compare with BB, though. Most teens and pre-teens can go on the BB slides over and over again. The slides at TL just don't have as much to offer. That said, TL is the most spectacular water park I have ever been to for theming and beauty.

Rather than me starting my own thread, allow me to piggyback...

I have never been to either one, but we have one day set aside just for a water park during our visit next week. Right now we are planning on doing BB. The reasons are pretty subjective. I think the theme sounds unique, but the main reason is TeamBoat Springs. My son saw just a short clip of it on one of the Disney travel planning DVD's and it's all he talked about for the rest of the evening.

Are there any good reasons we should switch our plans and go to TL instead? It will be me, DW, DS 4.5, DD 7 mo. & my sister. Me & my sister will be the only ones who would take advantage of the big slides, so I guess it boils down to which one is more suitable for a 4.5 year old boy who loves to swim? We are planning the whole trip around him, why should the water park be any different?

I have only been to BB and liked it a lot. Also trying to decide if we want tot do that again or try TL.

But as far as a 4.5 year old - last year I was at BB with a 5 and 6 year old and they both loved the lilte kids area. I forget the name, they had lots of little slides. Also we all loved the family raft ride, it's one of the reasons we may go back to BB.

I imagine either place will be fun!

This trip we decided to try TL as we'd only been to BB in the past. I wasn't impressed with TL at all. The rides were very slow and not very exciting. Now, if you have small children, they might like it better. The crowds at TL seemed to be smaller. TL does have a great wave pool. We spent most of our time there. Another thing I didn't care for at TL is all the stairs you must go up and down while waiting in line. It wears you out before you get to the ride.

My vote would be BB. It has more of a variety for all ages. The kiddie area is great, they have a pre-teen area too and then also faster rides.

Can someone tell me a little more about the family slide at BB? Is there a height restriction? My DD will almost be 2, could she ride? She will be wearing a life jacket. Also, does the ski lift taking you to the slides go pretty high? I worry about her wiggling out of my DH's arms. Is there another way to get to the top? Thanks!!

Thanks for all your replies. Maybe I'll let the kids see the different rides on the website and decide for themselves. It's Disney, I know we'll all have a great time! Thanks again!

I also can't decide on which water park to go to. I've been to TL like 12 years ago but my children have never been.. i really don't even remember it that well. I was planning on BB just because we've never been and it looked interesting. We live in the south and don't get to see things covered in snow often so I thought the kids would enjoy it, however. I find myself drawn to the tropical feel of TL. The kids are 7, 5 and almost 2. We're not really interested in huge slides just little kids stuff and some smaller slides. Any advice?
