Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon?

My group will be going to Disney in August and we are having difficulty deciding which water park to go to. The ages of the 5 DK's are 8, 5 and 2. It seems to me that Blizzard Beach is not appropriate it for their ages, but the 8 year olds have their heart set on going there. My feeling is that Typhoon Lagoon would better suit us. What do you think? Thanks!!

Actually just the opposite- BB would be more appropriate for their ages. We love both and do both every trip but at BB you have the tyke area which my 4 yr old cousin had a blast at, beside this area is the pre- teen section for the 8 yr olds, the main pool is much calmer for a whole family to use, the family raft ride is 10x better here, and the 8 lane toboggan racers are great for most ages.

We've been to BB twice and TL once with 3 kids under 8. My girls liked BB better even the 2 year old.
