My son and I are planning to visit a water park. Neither of us are strong swimmers, but we can swim. I visited BB once but it was 15 years ago (yikes!) and I've never been to TL. My son has a mild fear of heights but I have no fear of heights. So which would you choose?

You'll enjoy either. They both have large slides and smaller ones. Really, they have a lot of the same things, with different themes and twists. Major differences:

Wave pool at TL is BIG waves. Big and powerful ones. If you're not a strong swimmer, you may not like it...or at least stay more in the shallow end. BB wave pool is more gentle, but my wife said that after sitting for 20 minutes on an inner tube at BB wave pool she was getting sea sick because it's constant up/down. TL waves are every 90 seconds or so.

BB kiddie area is a bit more well developed. Has a zip line, pads to cross over the water, etc...

If you want to try the big slides (and I highly recommend it), TLs' Humunga Kowabunga can take 3 people at a time. BB Summit Plummit is one at a time, so it'll back up quicker and line goes slower. Crush-n-Gusher at TL is a lot of fun...the water pushes your tube through the slide, even uphill. Both have nice lazy rivers...TLs flows slower than BBs, but both are great.

I prefer TL because I like the theme better and it has more of the kind of slides I enjoy most.

I think the best water park attraction in both parks is at TL - Crush n Gusher. It's a water coaster - like a slide but you have some uphill sections. It is so fun! My friend and I rode all 3 tracks and it by far our favorite thing.

I found a lot of the slides at BB very short and not worth a wait. Downhill Double Dipper is less than 8 seconds long and we waited 45 minutes for. Not at all worth it!
Toboggan Racers were fun, but I would not wait more than 10 minutes for it - again, a very short ride.
We did not do Summit Plummet or Slush Gusher, but we rode all the other slides. Teamboat Springs is probably my second favorite water park ride behind Crush N Gusher - it's a family raft ride but it's really long!

More of the slides at TL have twists and turns, so you get more slide time for the wait. BB has more slides overall, but that means more lines, for very little slide time.

I liked the lazy river better at BB, it does seem to go slightly faster than TL's, and it has more shady spots.

Be careful in the wave pool at TL. I would not go past knee to waist deep if you're not a strong swimmer there. Every 90 seconds there is a 6 foot wave. When that giant wave comes, people underestimate how forceful it is and get knocked down.

The wave pool at BB is more relaxing, it has a medium bobbing wave to it, with periods of no waves.

I think which water park is better for you depends on the kind of attractions you like. If you want fast thrilling body slides, than BB is the place to go. If you like more mild thrills, but for a longer time, than TL is better.

I used to say TL hands down. The best attraction to me at either park is the wave pool at TL. That being said, for slides and lazy river I like BB.

Does anyone know which one has more inner tube/raft rides? I remember teamboat springs being a lot of fun.

We LOVE TL and chose it over BB every trip.

TL has a huge surf pool, if your not good swimmers, then there are plenty of shallower spots to enjoy the waves. We are strong swimmers and love to swim out to the rope and catch the big wave upfront. TL also has a snorkeling experience where you can swim at the surface of a salt water area with lots of fish/rays/sharks.

TL has a great lazy river and good slides.

We rented a cabana this year and I would do it again. It was very nice to have a shady place to hang out, get some water and eat.

TL has four inner tube slides and two body slides attractions.

BB has three inner tube slides, two mat slides, and two body slides attractions.
