Travelling with a 5 and 7 yr old, which one of these water parks is better?

Hi,

When we took our daughter last year she was seven and about 49 inches, quite a few of their slides are 48" tall requirement. We went to Blizzard Beach and she was able to get on just about all the rides. We love Blizzard Beach, it is very clean, has a smaller wave pool then Typhoon but we like that better. The slides are better at Blizzard Beach. Both of the water parks offer a kids area for kids under 48" and they are both nice. Typhoon may have a few more things for smaller kids, and they have the shark reef. I would check out other web sites about water park reviews and/ or videos aside from Disney's site.
Good Luck:)

I say BOTH! But, if choosing one, I would choose Typhoon Lagoon for the water roller coasters and coral reef. :goodvibes

depends on what you like, Blizzard beach has more slides so if you like slides definately blizzard beach, Typhoon Lagoon has a really huge wave pool that puts out really huge waves. It also has shark reef. Both of those things are cool but shark reef the water is very cold, its pretty quick as you have so swim continuously from one side to the other so you don't aggravate the sharks and the masks burn your face due to the chemical they use to clean them, the wavepool is good but you can only spend so long in a wave pool before you want to do something else. Blizzard beach is better imo and they have a large assortment of slides, may want to check the height requirements though. We didn't go on the biggest slide at Blizzard beach because it was too scary for us but they have many from big to small

Blizzard Beach

Why? Because Typhoon Lagoon's wave pool is a bit overwhelming and you have to hang on to your kids. It was more scary than fun with the kids. And the exciting rides are only for those over 48" (crush n gusher) and your kids, or at least the 5 year old, are probably not big enough to go on it.

Blizzard Beach has an area just for 'older' kids which my kids (they were 5 & 6 when we were there last) just loved. AND they were big enough to go on most of the moderate tube rides.

But both are great!

For young kids I would choose BB. Great family raft ride (Teamboat Springs), excellent kid's area and a wave pool that is a bit less intense.

My 11 year old daughter is very intrigued with the Shark Reef at TL. However... about how far is it from one side to the other? She is not able to swim continuously for a great distance.

Definitely BB!! 2 kids areas (they should love the "older" one) and tons of great slides they can go on. Even at barely 3 (and about 36") my DD could go on almost all the slides - and she LOVED it, the little daredevil!

ok so seems blizzard beach of the 2 , has anyone done wet and wild? My DH wants to got there but think that may be when they are older?

thanks. i was wondering same thing with my 42" daredevil.nothing worse than getting all amped up and not meeting the hieght req. will try bb first day, disney quest at night and tl the next day!
