If you could only do one of the water parks, which would you do? I have 3kids who love the water (ages, 5, 8, 10) and we would be there at the end of April. Thanks

Blizzard beach - without a doubt!! I love that the wave pool is more relaxed (not the crazy 6 foot waves) and I love the toboggan slides. I am not a huge waterpark fan because I don't like the bareback slides or the super fast slides and I find a LOT more to ride at BB. The shark thing is cool at TL but it's cold and my DH wears glasses and couldn't see them anyways. lol

The 2nd time we went to TL I was being pouty cause it wasn't as fun so we left and went to BB :)

because of the ages of the kids I would go to blizzard beach because of the pool, the wave pool at TL is too rough (imho) for them. I got hurt real bad last year at TL and was always my 1st choice. the pool is just too rough for little kids where as BB'S pool is a little milder..

Definitely not TL!!! Like PP said wave pool is MUCH TOO ROUGH!! My daughter got knocked down and scraped her entire back, side and arm up. Had to go to First Aid where they patched her up. Needless to say bandaging and applying sun block the rest of the trip was a chore!!!

My kids LOVED the kid area of BB! We went to BB in 06 and thought we would try TL in 08 and regretted it (even if she had not gotten hurt).

We all LOVED the family raft ride. It was the hit of the trip to BB!!!

I completely agree -- Blizzard Beach is the best! There were more age appropriate rides and the layout was better. As mentioned before, the family raft ride was great -- even for our 3 year old!

Im so glad the OP asked this question, I have a 7yr old and a 2 year old and was wondering the same question. My 7yr old wants to go see the sharks but I highly doubt he would venture in the water with them so BB looks like a better option. What is the family raft ride and would my 2 yr old be able to ride?

I would say Blizzard Beach as well with kids. My bf and I enjoy both but we like the relaxed tropical feel of Typhoon Lagoon more. There's less rides but we mainly just hang out in the lazy river and do the coral reef swim through thing (that water is COLD!). I've been in many wave pools in my life but TL is very powerful. Those are 'real' waves!

I gotta to go with the group, BB. My reasons the Family Raft ride way better, the Jr area so much fun, Wave pool much easier(the one at TL knocked me down & I am not a small person) & we really like the theme better.

We loved BB the best too! Maybe it is because we are used to alot of snow.;)

I'm surprised everyone loves BB. I just can't stand the theme. It always makes me feel cold. :rotfl: If I want to look at snow I would stay home. We like the wave pool at Typhoon lagoon. It is stong, but we don't go out really far.

I would have to say we prefer TL but then again my kids are older. However they were not teenagers the first time we were at both water parks and out last trip we didn't ever go to BB. No one wanted too but TL was a must.
For your childrens ages and for the reasons posted you may be better off at BB. :cool1: Either one you can't go wrong though, they are both fun just different.

I was at TL once and loved it! I spent pretty much the whole day floating around in the lazy river. Never was at BB so I can't say which one I like better. But TL was fun!

I was going to ask this yesterday! I had sort of decided on TL because I have a 3 and 4 year old and the park generally seemed friendlier to such young kids. If we avoided the wave pool at TL, do you think it would be age-appropriate?

BB has a great kids area, part of it is for littler kids (under age 5) and another part is for the older kids (like 6-10). My dd7 loved the kids part as well as the main slides etc. It was one of her favorite parts of our vacation.

We'll be down there Mar 5-12 and don't have any choice, BB will be down for refurbishment. The upside is that TL will have just reopened from its refurbishment so everything will be in tiptop condition.

The last time we went to WDW (Oct 2008) we had no choice because BB was closed. We went to TL and my DD (11 at the time) enjoyed it, however, if BB is open for our trip this year we'll try go there because that's the waterpark my DD really wants to try.

I agree with the PPs about the TL wave pool being rough - and it more ways than one. The waves themselves are big and powerful and the bottom of the pool area is very scratchy. I saw so many kids get knocked down by the waves and then get up with bloody knees. Ouch!

Have to vote for TL for a couple of reasons. There is much better shade at TL, several places at BB the concrete paths are in direct sun and it was painful to get from A to B. Also, the Crush N Gusher was just an awesome ride that we all enjoyed. The wave pool at BB we found to be a bit boring, but we did like the lazy river at BB better, as well as the toboggan racers! Well continue to do both, but TL is the park that gets a second look each trip!
