Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon?

I'm off to orlando theme parks in september with my boyfriend. we have one spare day (sunday) and want to go to a water park.

Which is better, Blizzard beach or typhoon lagoon?

Can we visit both on the same day? or is that pushing it?

Is one of them less busy on a Sunday?

Getting to both would be almost impossible, if there's a thunderstorm the park will close meaning less time at the park your at and if very good weather then on a Sunday it could get very crowded in the afternnon which is when you would want to change parks.

Which on depends on what your after, BB has more thrill slides than TL but there both equally good both with slides & themeing.

We preferred BB. I'm not sure why, it seemed like there were more slides(not sure if this is true), and the kids loved the family raft ride.

Most of us preferred TL because it's better for a relaxing time, and we found it was quieter than BB, though that could have been something to do with the days - I don't really remember what day we went sorry, but the weekends tend to be busier than the weekdays...
If you're into thrill rides then BB is definitely better...TL seemed a little more relaxed and family-orientated.

DH and I agree that Blizzard Beach is better for us "older" kids.
There are more slides, and I think their slides are better.

Having visited Blizzard Beach in May 2005 and Typhoon Lagoon in September 2006 I must say that I (23 male) definately prefered Typhoon Lagoon, the wave pool is absolutely immense and the new 'water coasters' even up the stakes when it comes to slides, I also think the themeing is a touch better and as said before more relaxed. The only reason I would choose BB over TL is if you are really into BIG slides, BB has two slides definately not for the fainter heart, if you are a daredevil perhaps you should try it, if not Typhoon Lagoon all the way!!!

Definitely Blizzard Beach for the slides. Typhoon Lagoon for the wave pool. Although TL now has the water coaster which was pretty cool

Better family raft ride
Better "tween" area (slides/attractions for the elementary/middle school age)

Typhoon Lagoon-
Better large pool
More secluded spots for setting up towels/etc
Snorkeling with Sharks Attraction

We love BB. I feel that has better theming and it has a great kiddie area and intermidate area for ages 5-10. The wave pool at TL has a rough floor and the waves make me nervous with my kids. BB also has double tube rides. I love it there.

I think it would depend on the age of your children or what you like to do at a water park. We enjoyed TL because my kids are young, however we will be going to BB soon because they are older. Also we don't like fast slides so the lazy river and kiddie area of TL was perfect for us.

FYI the wave pool at TL has a rough bottom - be sure to wear your water shoes!

My DH and I did both water parks on July 5th when we were down. We went to BB in the morning and left at 2 and then went to TL. I would do it that way again another time. We had gone on all the slides we had wanted at BB so it wasn't a big deal leaving. We had no problem getting into TL...there were people leaving when we arrived. The wave pool at TL is awesome...we could have stayed there all day but there were a few other things we wanted to do like Crush 'n Gusher and swimming with the sharks. I do agree though that the slides at BB are more fun and much faster than TL. If I had to choose one park it would be TL for the wave pool.
