I have a DDthat is mentally and physically challenged. Neither of us swim, but we enjoy the water. We have been to BB but never TL but his time both will be open. We can do 4 or 5 rides at BB, but of course not the extreme ones. Will we enjoy TL? Any suggestions? I know at BB we leave the WC and they give us a water WC to use on the slides etc. How accessable TL? Thanks.

I don't know how accessible TL is as far as WC for slides, but just wanted to make you aware that the wave pool at TL is much "rougher" than the one at BB. Since neither of you swim, I'd either stay at the very edge of the wave pool (they have bouys marking where the waves start to get intense, and it's not far into the pool at all), or avoid it altogether. I'm a pretty strong swimmer and the waves were enough to knock me over, even when I was only at about 3 ft. depth. There is a small still pool at TL also, over near the new Crush n' Gusher ride, which would probably be a better choice for 2 non-swimmers.

I think BB pool is less intimidating than the wave pool at TL. I was in the wave pool at TL only up to my thighs and they waves knocked me down and I scraped my toe really bad, still have the scar! I liked BB better as far as the pool but the theming at TL was very tropical. I will take my dgd to BB instead of TL. Good luck.

For what it's worth, the official Disney website has a Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities for:
Typhoon Lagoon
and for Blizzard Beach
They don't give a lot of information, but it's better than nothing. The Passporter Book of WDW for Your Special Needs does have a section about the water parks, so you might want to peak at that if you see it in a book store.
Blizzard Beach opened in 1995. Typhoon Lagoon opened in 1989. Usually, the newer area is going to be a bit more accessible, since they do use knowledge about what might have worked better to improve the newer park.
