We are going in June. If you could only go to one, which would you choose and why?

Please make sure and let me know if you have been to both.

I would choose Blizzard Beach....but only because it has never been open when we go to Disney! We have been to River Country, and to Typhoon Lagoon a few times, but BB is always closed! Maybe someday we will get to go at a time when it is open.

We usually try to go to both, but our favorite is Typhoon Lagoon. It really depends what you like - I like the theming better at TL and the wave pool, but Blizzard Beach has more/bigger slides.

The wave pool at TL is really a surf pool; a large wave comes about every 3 minutes and wipes out everything in its path. It's difficult to be in this pool with small children, unless you stand near the shore, because they will get knocked down. Also, TL has Shark Reef and the new water coaster, Crush N' Gusher, which we haven't been on yet. They also have some good slides and a good family raft ride, but the family ride isn't as long as the one at BB.

At BB, the wave pool is small, continuous bobbing waves (which make me a little sick to my stomach after awhile), but is probably better for smaller children. There are no large waves here. But they do seem to have more, faster slides for the adults. Also, they have a chair lift that takes you up to the top of most of the slides, so there's not as much stair climbing.

Both parks have nice kiddie areas. My daughter is 5 and she enjoys both parks, but I would say her favorite is TL.

They're both nice and you can't really go wrong with either one - it just depends on the ages of your family and what you like.

BB is newer, except for the new ride at TL. If you've not been to either one, go to Typhoon Lagoon first because it was built first. I've been to both and when I go to WDW I like to go to both, so it's not a question of being able to go to only one. I wish I had gone to River Country before it closed.

It's not so much that TL is "tamer," but BB can be very scary! :surfweb:

The two are very different. IMO, if you like slides and don't mind the climbing, I'd go to BB. BB had more "action".But, I really liked TL's lazy river. Much better, I thought, than BB's. Watch that Humuga Kowabunga at TL (huge weggies! :yay: ) Both were way fun, and when we go back, we'll be doing them both I'm sure.

I've never been to bb- it was closed when we went but I wasn't impressed with tl. Now I went on very few big rides because I had a little one with me so maybe that is why. I thought there kiddie area was boring. My dd who was 2 at the time liked it fine but I just thought the park we have here close to home was better. I'm hoping on our next trip that bb will be open so I can try it out. If not we won't be going back to tl, I'll look for another local water park. Of course this is just my opinion, it looks like alot of others loved it. My dd 11 at the time loved the wave pool.

We have been to both. We prefer TL because of the wave pool. Are you going with kids? If you have smaller kids, then TL is the way to go. If youre kids are teens, you may prefer BB.

Blizzard beach would be the one. Even profiled on the Travel Channel as one of the top 10 waterparks in the world.

We have been to both many times....& we would choose Typhoon Lagoon.

Maybe it's just us, but my family feels that T.L. is cleaner & better taken care of. The lazy river in BB always seems so full of leaves & debris. (Maybe it has more trees/plants around it? but I don't think so).

We also love the wave pool at T.L.

And 2 weeks ago we had some stuff stolen from our bag from BB (as did some other families)...but we've learned our lesson from that....we won't leave any personal items on a chair.

we have been to both, and although my family loves the big slides at bb, the wave pool at tl, makes my family like that park better. plus, they have enough slides to keep us all happy. we can spend a lot of time in that wave pool. it is awesome.

i love typhoon lagoon . love the wave pool, the lazy river, swimming with sharks i just need to try the new slides there. am not much of a slide person so blizzard beach doesn't do much for me

We've always enjoyed BB more, even when the kids were young. We'd just take them to the kiddie's area (and later the Jr's area) and sit and relax in the sun while they swam/played.

As the kids got older the more and better water slides at BB were the attraction. The family water ride at BB is definitely better than TL and we've always enjoyed the lazy river at BB better than TL. BB is a lot more exercise as climbing Mt Gushmore is quite an effort.

Don't get me wrong, most trips we'll go to both BB and TL. The wave pool is a blast, but just be careful with young kids as the wave pool can take them for a ride. Women need to watch themselves in the wave pool also, or men in the area will be watching more of them than they'd like :rolleyes1 if you know what I mean.
