We are going to WDW next week for my 4 year old's make a wish trip. We also have a 3 year old. He is DYING to go to a water park. Can anyone tell me which one is best for little kids? Also - is it reasonable to think we will just spend a half day there doing the little kid stuff?

Thanks

Susan

Typhoon Lagoon has most rides at 48" requirement. Definitely Blizzard Beach is better for the young ones.

I cannot remember any little kids stuff at Typhoon other than a slide in a shallow pool I think. Blizzard Beach does have an area where kids can go over the water on 'ice floats' and little slides. It does also have a family raft ride which is great fun and a toboggan run where you go head first down some small slides together. I am not sure if there are height restrictions on these though.

We have been to both TL when the kids were 7 and 5 and BB when they were 9 and 7, 11 and 9. I prefer BB to TL.

We tend to go there first thing and spend the morning.

We took our DD (then 3) last year to Blizzard beach. There is a very adorable kiddie area with little slides and fountains. Many of the seating areas have sand, so they can play and you can relax for a bit. The family raft ride is a hoot and she got a kick out of riding up to it in the ski lift. We had a ball there!

They will love the cartoonish and fun theme of the park. The kiddie area is great and they will have things they can to at the Ski Patrol Area too. The family raft ride is the best and if you don't want to walk up the mountain there is a sky lift. They have a lazy river. The wave pool is great for the young ones because it is a gently rolling wave (not the power waves of TL).

Have a good time !

My DD got really scared in the wave pool at TL. They do have a gentler area, but the main area is much rougher.

There is a wonderful children's area at BB, including a "raft" slide for children that she lOVED

Have never been to TL so I can't comment on that but my 2 year old really enjoyed BB. The seperate kiddie area (Tykes Peak, I think) was very nice. It had a zero entry pool, sand play areas, a small waterfall in the pool. There was also an area 'up the hill' that had a house like thing with several small slides which was enjoyed a lot. The only thing I did not like about this area was that for the slightly bigger slides it was difficult to be at the top to watch her until she went down and then be at the bottom to catch her. It really was a two person operation. One of the slides you could run down the hill and get to the bottomin time but another section of slides it was impossible to do that on-either need two people or had to go down right after her on the slide next to hers. She really enjoyed some of the bigger kid slides in the other area of the park also (needed two people to do these once again) and she LOVED the family raft ride.

:confused3 Maybe TL because they have a lot of little kid slides there and they have bigger slides too.
