We are going on a cruise next month and have about 5-6 hours in Orlando before our flight. We’ve taken into consideration travel time to Orlando and getting to the airport... We are a family of 5 and my kids are 21, 16, and 16. So, if you had to pick between these two waterparks, which would you choose?

We also thought about going to DS but thought that we might not find enough to do - and it will be hot! However, if the weather isn’t good, that’s plan B!

Are you a laid back family or a ride family? We found the slides etc at aquatica excellent but the lazy river and atmosphere at BB better.
Is there a reason you are deciding between BB and aquatica? Some people would say typhoon lagoon is better than blizzard (me).
Others may say volcano bay is better (not me, never been there😊)

We love Aquatica because of its not so lazy river, Roas Rapids. The 1500 foot long rushing river allows us to stay submerged so we don't fry in the sun. We wear life vests and ride around for hours. It is a really fun alternative for those who aren't into water slides. Both parks have great water slides, wave pools and theming. A day at Aquatica is our favorite way to spend a hot day in Orlando.

Thanks for your response. DH and I are more laid back, and the boys like rides... we all love a good lazy river! It’s been a long time since we’ve been to a Disney water park and when they were younger, they preferred BB to TL. That’s why we picked that one, and we also went to Aquitica a long time ago (and don’t remember it either!)
The price for volcano bay was a lot for the limited time we will be there, so we decided to eliminate that as an option this time.

Thanks for your response too! How crazy are the lines for the rides without the QuickQueue pass. It would be an additional $49 per ticket to get that for the boys and that seems like a lot. However, waiting in lines for hours in the heat sounds horrendous!

My kids prefer BB over TL too. I feel BB is an all day park and Aquatica gets boring after about 4 hours.

Also the weather could be perfect, or even hot, when you arrive and the second you buy your waterpark tickets they sky opens up and it downpours for 2 hours. Thats the way it works in FL. Very little notice and it starts pouring every afternoon. I would opt for Disney Springs, especially with your older aged kids. There is plenty to do and plenty of ducking places.

Did you see the new NBA experience? Not sure if your kids like sports, but it looks cool!

Thanks! Yes, weather is definitely a concern. We may wait and see what the day looks like and what the weather report is when we get there. Either way, I suppose we have great choices of things to do!

The weather report is going to say sunny with chance of afternoon thunderstorms, like it does 365 days per year! You never know what you will get in FL. When that sky opens and starts pouring, it could be 20 minutes or 4 hours.

So maybe we will see if it’s actually raining! 😂 If it is, then definitely no water park... if not, who knows!

It is very difficult to guess how busy a water park will be. We have gone two days in a row and one day was quiet and the other busy and the weather was the same.

We noticed that weekends are busiest because of the locals. On some visits, we rarely hear American English. The water parks get hammered by foreigners so they are very busy during at certain times of year when Brits and South Americans travel.

Road rapids never has a line, but the wait time for slides is unpredictable.
