Blizzard Beach glasses users, do your kids wear croakies to keep them on?

We go to BB every trip and are planning the same in two more weeks. But this time, my sons, ages 12 and 13 are wearing glasses for the first time. The thought of wearing croakies is SO, so uncool. Any thoughts on going down slides and then winding up in that pool at the end? What do you do? My DS 12 says he can do without his glasses for awhile, but DS 13 cannot. Thanks.

I know my DS just goes w/o (he's 12). However, he can still see pretty well. He got contacts this year-- and he'll give those a try. DH & I both wear our contacts to the water parks there too. I know he'll need something to keep the glasses attached per park rules.

Oh, I never knew they have a rule to have to have your glasses attached? Is that printed somewhere or do they stop you and let you know? I have a feeling he'll have to settle for the croakies...we'll see how that one goes over.

i will just say that i have seen more than a few people lose their glasses on rides or at the pool at the end. i wouldn't chance it, personally. dh wear perscription goggles. definitely not a "cool" look. :rotfl:

They won't be the only ones wearing them!

I wear mine in the park as well - get tired of switching between regular glasses & sun glasses so I just hang them around my neck! However - I'm breaking down and trying transitionals this year!

I bought corrective googles at a sporting goods store. They are not my perscription, but close to it. They have various strengths (my DH got them too, and he needs stronger ones than me).

So I do good with those and so does he. I think they were around $15-$20, but I can't remember for sure.

You can get perscriptions ones, but they cost more (and we really don't use them all that often, just on vacation).

We all wear glasses in our family. Dh and I both have 'floating croakies' that we put on our glasses. When in regular parks we both have plain holders on at all times. Dd, 11, wears different goggles. She started wearing them when she was swimming in pools since she is very sensitive to overheated chlorinated water. (Yep, a big issue at WDW). She started with some prescription ones that we got for less than $100. Then she found some that are better suited to competitive swimming but non-prescrip. She has found that with the magnifying effect the water has, she can see pretty well with the plain goggles. Those are the only ones she wears now.
