Any input on which water park will be better for my 6YO Daughter?
Let me know-we leave in 2 days!

Blizzard Beach, they have a children's area complete with slides, fountain play area and pop jets. Must be 48" or SHORTER to ride. A pre-teen area featuring slides, a t-bar drop and an iceberg walk. If you can get there at opening try to get under one of the shelters around Melt Away Bay. Nice place to get out of the sun for some down time. Yes some of this is right out of the Guide Map to Blizzard Beach. On our first trip to Disney we had a wonderful bus driver and we asked him which was better for a 7yr. old. He sent us to Blizzard Beach because it had the different stages of rides. Typhoon Lagoon was more for real small kids and older kids. This could be out of date because we were there in 2003 and had a great time. We were there again the last of May and went to Blizzard Beach again and never thought about "the other one". :teeth: :teeth: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :teeth: :teeth:

We went with our 4 kids (DD 6 yo, DS 8 yo, DS 15 yo, DS 18 yo) to Typhoon Lagoon and our kids loved it! Our daughter loved the big wave pool and she kept running out to about her waist and then when the wave would came she would "ride" it in to shore!
She also liked the tube rides, small slides for kids, and they enjoyed building sand castles on the beach.
The thing she absolutely loved was "Castaway Creek"-a lazy, slow moving "creek" that winds around the entire park. The temperature was so warm and you could float along in tubes but she insisted pulling us around the entire park on the tubes 4 times!!
I think that no matter which park you pick, they will love it because its different!
One word of advice, if possible take water shoes for your DD-it will help prevent falls. Our kids never wear them but for our trip someone recommended them for TL so I bought some for the younger two and we were very glad to have them-saved them from a lot of "slips"!
Have fun on your trip :sunny: Wish I was going too!! :teeth:

I'll vote for BB, although I love TL myself. TL has a much bigger wave pool and I love the atmosphere. The new family raft ride is a ton of fun. :flower:

However, BB has more slides, etc that fit the your daughters age group. My DD's prefer it there. They are now 7 and 5. TL children's area is geared for toddlers, IMHO.

I would suggest TL with a six year old instead of BB. With that said, I prefer BB but I have older kids who didn't like TL very much. I remember thinking that TL would have been perfect if the kids were younger.

The main difference for me is that BB has more slides and the preteen area is lots of fun! TL is more about the wave pool and shark reef and it also has the new slides. My DD (9 on our last trip) has always preferred TL because of the wave pool, but we still visit BB as well.

We visited both BB and TL during our late May trip. Our almost 5 yo loved BB the most. The kiddie area has slides, a good tube slide, and more water to splash in than TL. If your daughte is daring, there is also the pre-teen area at BB. With dh's supervision and assistance, ds was able to do a lot of the things in this area, too. Our ds is just not a strong enough swimmer to let go on the more adult slides. Thus, there just wasn't much for him at TL. The kiddie area there is really for kids who love squirting water (He enjoyed this, but his 2.5 yo sister didn't!) and babies (Our 2.5 yo was too old for most of it already.) This is not to say we won't be returning to TL (Both dh and I LOVE the theming, and 12 yo ds loves the slides.); but on shorter trips we will probably only visit BB in the near future. There's something for everyone in our family here.

When I asked for advice on this months ago, lots of people turned me toward Typhoon Lagoon due to the age of my DD who was 8 then. We're going for BB this year since she'll be 10.
