I keep getting a blister in the same spot each run I do. Any helpful suggestions as to what I can do to not get one? Or any help with what works to ease the discomfort?

Thanks!!

Becky

Have you tried applying a lubricant such as Vaseline or Body Glide to the area to reduce friction? Or checked to see if a seam in the sock or shoe might be causing it?

Since it's the same spot, you can put mole skin or a blister bandage on before you go out.

You sound like this is new thing. What did you change that might have caused this? Different shoes, different socks?

you can get goengo's to put in your shoe

Yes I always apply bodyglide. I have not changed anything. No new socks. I get the blister on the bottom of my foot between my big toe and the 2nd toe. (like where a thong flip flop would go - but on the bottom) So no sock lines would rub there. I wear the same shoes. I have 2 pairs that I alternate between but they are both the same style just different colors.

I will look for the moleskin, thanks.

What are goengo's?

Thanks for the help!

Have you tried the double layer socks. One layer sticks to you the other to the show so the friction is between the layers of the sock. "Wright Sock" is the brand I use and haven't gotten a blister since starting to wear them. They're really not any thicker than a regular performace sock, just 2 layers stitched together.

Duct Tape!

If your wound is not open (i.e. dry), cut a piece of duct tape and place over the spot that is hot. Use the tape without the reinforcing threads. Then body glide of the tape.

Much cheaper than other solutions.

Did that in many 50 mile runs! Works like a charm :)

Sorry if this is a dumb question. Would you put the duct tape directly on the skin over the hot spot or do you use some sort of pre-wrap first?

Lately, I've been having issues of blisters on the bottom of my heels. Looking for ideas to help prevent them, especially during the full.

When I had issues during 50+ milers, I would add directly to skin. You just have to watch edges as they can cause problems as they may roll up.

Thanks for tip on duct tape! I used it yesterday and today for my runs and no issues! It definately is tricky trying to get the tape to stick to the right spot (esp since my area is almost between my toes) but it worked well enough I guess. Hopefully it stays in place for 26.2 miles!

I like Dr Scholl's Mole Foam for when I already have a blister. Cut out a donut-shaped piece and put the blister in the middle. I leave it on for several days - even in the shower.

I have been dealing with a blister on the bottom of the toe next to my pinkie toe. I have tried moleskin - it has worked to an extent. I will have to try the duct tape method. Actually seems cheaper than moleskin
