DD14 has nasty blisters in the inside balls of her feet. She is doing a soccer camp from 9-4 every day this week. That area of her feet were calloused and tough as leather but she injured her knee back in April and has only started playing again in the last few weeks. She actually had pretty feet for a short time! Anyway, she is really uncomfortable. I cut a couple of pieces of moleskin for her this morning but I don't know how much help that will be. Anyone have any tried and true methods for dealing with these sore spots in the mean time? I know that they will build up again but for now, I have to do something for her. I read about a product (by BandAid, I think) specifically for blisters but I was wondering if anyone has used it. Thanks!

the only thing i've ever been able to get to stick to sweaty feet is tape, medical or duct tape will both work.

If you are talking about the Bandaid Blister Cushions we have used them. They work very well. They really keep the blisters from hurting! A word of warning though...they are SUPER sticky. You really have to pull on them to get them off. If you have a full blown blister, you may end up peeling some skin of with it. It's dead blister skin though, so it doesn't hurt or anything. We like them.

Thanks for the replies. I just picked her up and her feet are killing her. The moleskin didn't stay on long at all. Off to the store to try the blister cushions. "Super sticky" sounds good right now! Thankfully only 2 more days.

I am going to send you and your DD tons of pixie dust pixiedust: pixiedust:
her feet will hurt I am sorry. I like moleskin when I go to disney. Also when she gets home from practice's have a wet wash cloth or towel and have her put it around her feet. I did that the last time I was getting blisters and it helped ease the pain. I am not sure about any tape or anything but I just let time :hourglass heal mine. Hope she fills better

I put stick deoderent (sp) on my feet so I dont get blisters, when I dance....

My DD15 dances 9/10 hours a week. She has some nasty looking feet. Depending on the type of dancing she is doing, her feet can end up with blisters, calluses, raw spots, etc. Pointe can really be tough on feet and can actually make them bleed in places. Yuck.

Anyway, she just started a new season of dance after about a month's break, and last week she developed a huge blister on the bottom of each big toe. I bought a box of the special blister bandaids, but even the large ones were too small to cover each blister. She was afraid of them sticking to the blister so she didn't use them.

The next day when she went to dance, she showed the blisters to her dance instructor and the instructor broke both blisters with a sterilized needle. It was dead skin and didn't hurt at all. However, when she started dancing, the loose skin rubbed right off and left the bottom of each big toe with just the tender skin that was under the blister.

It was actually much better than leaving the blisters though, because with the blisters, there was no way she could have danced on them. We found the best thing was to keep Neosporin on the skin, wrap the toes with gauze, and tape the gauze on with first aid tape. Every night she soaks her toes in warm water and they're looking better each day. She'll eventually build up calluses again.

I'm not sure how the best way would be to deal with your daughter's feet, but just wanted to share what worked for us. :grouphug: to your daughter. I know the blisters can be painful.

I think I may experiment on her....on one foot, I'll put the blister cushion and on the other one, the neosporin and gauze. I'll let you know tomorrow what happens. ;)

ETA...Luvflorida, I love your cat's name--it's the same as my dog's!

Band-Aid Blister Treatment!!! They are bandages made specifically for blisters and have blister treatment in the pad. I used these after my first marathon, and got MASSIVE blisters and they worked WONDERS. I was able to walk completely normally with regular shoes on the next day. I always keep some on hand when I will be doing physical activity.
