I ordered some patches from goengo.com last week. The stick on your shoe or insole wherever it rubs. For me, I put it on the rub spot in my orthodics. It's like a really smooth teflon. Between that, a few rest days on teh blister and a band aid that stuck well, I was golden Saturday. DId my 12-miler in 2:14 without any irritation. Yay!!!!!!
BTW, teh good band aid was Band-Aids's blister bandage. They stay on for several days (yes, you're supposed to leave them on that long). With the right blister, they work wonders. However, tehy have a medicated pad that swells up. Most of the time, it's extra cushioning. A few times, though, I have found it creates more pressure and irritates teh spot. So, if you use tehm, put them on when you have several hours (or overnight) pre-run, so that you can tell if it will help or hurt before you run.
