OK... silly me, I thought I would try this, I wanted whiter teeth. Anyhow, this is my second time and I am experiencing some sensitivity...not bad, but some.

Can any of you share any experiences you have had with this treatment?? Thank you.. I hope I do not have to give it up, they are looking so much better.

I had to give it up about half way through. It started that I was just getting sensitivity for an hour or so after, then longer, finally the sensitivity turned into pain. So I gave up. I hope you do beter than me.

Why type/brand are you doing? I am getting fitted for a mouth tray tomorrow to start whitening.

I've used Crest Whitestrips, then did BriteSmile, and use Tres White for maint. Each person is different. I have a little sensitivity after using Tres White so I just make sure that I don't drink ice water (room temp). I do mine before I go to bed and I am fine when I wake up.

If you are doing this daily or twice a day perhaps you can cut back a little and see if you improve. Or maybe take some asprin a little before you bleach.

I got this from my dentist and had the trays made to fit my teeth...the brand is called Nite White.. no sensitivity today...so maybe I have to get use to it???

Mine only get a little sensitive as long as I stick to the plan. If I try to play catch up it really hurts. A friend of mine says that she needs a little teeth heater after she does hers.

I've used the strips and if I follow the directions of 30 min twice a day, my teeth get pretty darn sensitive. If I cut back to 30 min every other day, they were only a little sensitive but bearable. After I got through all of the strips the sensitivity went away after a day or so. It took a little longer to get through the pack but I got good results.

I've used this a few times. The first time I was able to get thru the entire thing. It hurt like you wouldn't believe but it was doable. The last few times I haven't been able to finish it. I last maybe 1/2 way thru. Which is usually good enough for me.

There are also 2 strengths. I can't remember offhand what they are, but you could see about getting the lower one. That really helps me, and it does just as good a job.

I usually start getting really sensitive after the first week. So beware.....

I had mine done at the dentist. I gotta say it hurt like mad! Even opening an envelope caused a vibration that made me cringe! It was so odd! but they looked amazing so :)

Sounds similar to what I got from my dentist.

I ended up throwing in the towel after the 4th treatment. I just can't stand the sensitivity! I have the Rembrandt 22% Carbamide Peroxide Whitening Gel with the custom made tray.

I really wanted to stick with it, but I just can't seem to get up the guts to start over again. I also love my coffee in the morning, and to get the best results, I really have to stop drinking it while I'm doing the bleaching.

I also use Nite White from my dentist. He recommended if there is any sensitivity to use Gel Kam, I had to ask for it from my pharmacy counter and it comes in two forms: gel and mouthwash. I had some sensitivity and used the gel in my trays for the recommended time, it helps alot.

I've used a few over the counter teeth whitening systems over the years (Crest Whitestrips being the best IMO) but man, the sensitivity/ tingling feeling was so bad I went to the dentist and he recommended I use Sensodyne toothpaste. It's been 2 years and I'm afraid to stop using it. I don't know if it does permanent damage but I swear my teeth have never been the same... :confused3
