Bladder infection help needed!

I've used the Cystex before, and it really did help with the discomfort.

Good luck to you. Hope you can get into a doctor soon. Probably need antibiotics to get the infection cleared up.

As someone who suffered with awful recurring UTIs (until I figured out what was causing them and how to prevent them) I will echo the advice of those who have posted before me. All the over-the-counter "remedies"/home remedies/cranberry juice in the world can NOT help you once you have a bladder infection or UTI. All they can do is mask the symptoms. If you wait 3 or more days without seeking treatment you can and will become VERY ill. The infection can damage your bladder or urinary tract and/or can spread to your kidneys and cause permanent damage. UTIs are some of the nastiest thing in the whole world, I am suffering from a distance along with you - I feel your pain.

Please go to a walk-in clinic in a neighboring town or to the ER and do what you need to do to get the help you need.

Take it from someone who knows OP... it only takes a few days of letting this sort of thing go before you may have to deal with a much more serious issue or a lifelong issue. UTIs can get bad FAST. Go to the ER if that is all there is, but waiting a few days is NOT a smart idea.

1 UTI made a situation where I have been dealing with issues related to it for multiple years now. Don't be stupid like I was and get this treated.

OP, how are you today? Did you go to the ER?

I hope you are feeling better. :goodvibes

Yes, I'm here and feeling hellish this morning. I did follow through with a trip to the ER (Lucky me! Only a 4.5 hr. wait) and the meds are making me feel mighty washed out but I have the confidence in knowing this is on its way to getting better, not festering and growing worse. I'm amazed how nice all of you were, insisting I seek help, and for the first time ever...I listened. Many thanks to everyone who took time and posted to this thread. :flower3:

Going to the ER was the best advice. I'm glad you went and that you are on antibiotics.

Sorry you are feeling bad though.

You'll be feeling better by tonight. I usually need at least 2 doses of meds before I start to feel better. I was at my dr on Thursday for this same thing.

I'm also glad you went to the ER. I have had many kidney issues and wouldn't wish it on anyone. Feel better!

Small town here too....the doctor's message refers to the hospital as well. But if I call the hospital and ask who is on call, whoever is covering family practices calls back.

I'd wait the 5-8 hours in the ER rather than risk kidney damage.

Me too!

OP, go to the ER. There is no point in delaying treatment. You will be miserable and risk having the infection progress to your kidneys.

Feel better soon!

I should have read the entire thread before replying. Glad you went to the ER.

Also one who suffers from it.

Cystex..or any of the over the counter med. But cranberry juice needs to be 100% juice...chug it and chug water. This works better for a urinary tract infection, but a kidney infection is worse. You need to force the fluids and continue to go to the restroom often. If your kidneys are hurting a heating pad helps. Force the water and 100% cranberry until you can't drink it anymore.

Best wishes !!!!!!!!!

I wonder if that Alka Seltzer treatment is similar in theory to the baking soda treatment I was told about. Stir 1 tsp of baking soda in an 8 oz glass of water and drink. It tastes yechy, but it does help. And if, like me, you get frequent bladder infections, I recently started taking Vitamin C, and been infections-free for 4 months (that's about 3 months longer than normal for me).
