Blackout/No discount dates in October?

We have traveled in October, but not during the Columbus Day time period. Do they typically not offer discounts during this period? I have been searching threads for this, and prior discount dates, and it seems the middle two weeks do not appear, or are specifically not included in discounts.

Will there be anything at all during those two weeks? I can live without free dining, but do they typically offer a room discount or any discount at all?

They second and third weeks of October are typically blocked out for most discounts. A huge amount schools have fall break during that time frame, they have a lot of corporate conventions and golf tournaments then also. Plus you throw in Food and Wine Festival and MNSSHP being in full swing at that point, you have some substantial crowds. They aren't going to offer deep discounts under those circumstances. There could possibly be a small room discount for that time frame, but that's about it and that's a maybe.
