So Targets ad came out today and there are 2 things on it(electric drums and keyboard) that I need/want for my DD6. I read on here that some shop on Black Friday from home on the internet. Are the prices the same as the store. Getting up to be there by 5am is not exactly my cup of tea but I would do it for my DD6. Any help is much appreciated.

YEs, the prices are the same. Sometimes there is free shipping too.

I usually don't go shopping on Black Friday, but last year DD25 really wanted me to go with her. I was up and out of the house by 5am, and we were in line at our first store by 5:20am.

All I can say is- :scared1: Never again! The crowds, the frantic people...it was frightening.

I'll be doing my shopping online this Black Friday!

Okay, here's one thing to note with Target and their black friday deals. You say you can't get there at that time of day soooo go there on the Saturday or Sunday before Thanksgiving. Target price adjusts their items within 14 days of purchase. If you know what you want, and it's not an item that's only available on BF (there have been a couple of these type of items each year), buy it, then go back later in the day on BF to get the price. You do have to go the day/time the sale is on, you just don't have to be there at 6 AM to get the item. One other thing though, they won't match the buy this get a GC items.

HTH

I went out only once on Black Friday and that was 2003. I had to go to Best Buy for my DH. Crazy place that early in the morning. :scared1:

I LOVE Black Friday shopping. It's a tradition for my sister and I, and I cannot wait! :)

It's one of those things either you love it, or you'll be HATING life.

We were intending on skipping BF this year. However, a keyboard is one thing on DDs list (she wants to begin piano lessons). So, it looks like we may join the early morning Target craziness after all.

That is my reason for going. :)

I guess I need to sell DD's keyboard on Craig's List then before BF! That was one of her "must have" items a couple of years ago. She played with it and learned some songs from a music book that came with it, but a few weeks later it was a dust collector. The only time it ever gets played is when one of the kids has a friend over. Just the other DS had a friend over who migrated right to the keyboard. After a couple of minutes of playing on it, I hear DS say, "Stop playing that or my mom is going to get mad." :lmao: No one in the house enjoys listening to it.

I used to love going BF shopping. In line by 4am, hot chocolate & flyers in hand. No more. Up until a few years ago it was more like a club. We would chat w/ others in line, play cards, etc. Then we would meet the kids & spouses for brunch.

Now it is too cut throat. People push, shove, rush the doors. It just isn't fun any more.

I totally agree with this. I had always enjoyed it before. Last year, however, we witnessed two cars go flying through the parking lot in a chase. One driver flipped off the other. They both ended up getting out of their cars & fighting! And...this was all before the stores even opened!

Up until now, there's never been a big ticket item I needed. I ended up just buying regular stuff, so it wasn't worth it anyways. Internet shopping is sounding better all the time!

Where can I access this ad? I couldn't find it on the Target website, just the weekly ad.

This is a great Black Friday thread

Thanks...........I would much rather shop in my pjs.

This is getting to be much too common. I know you're talking about shopping online from home, but there are many people who go shopping (mostly at WalMart) in their pj's.

I wish they'd shop at home, too. :thumbsup2

YEs, the prices are the same. Sometimes there is free shipping too.

Be aware however that stores often have "in store" specials as well. So while it's not advertised you get there and something else is on sale. Target is notorious for this.

Also some stores give a "free gift" if you go in store. (JCpenny snow globes I think? and vera gave me a free fabric notebook- small for your purse)

I shop both ways. Hit some early morning for the freebies and special deals and then online later in the day for other sale items. I am OUT OF THE MALL by 10AM!

Im fond of black friday but I dont go till about a half hour after opening cause its NEVER a big ticket item i want!
