First time taking my blackberry to disney world..........
Do people leave it in their purse/carryon or take it out like any other electronic device. Everyone I asked so far has kept it in their carry on's. Who has taken their blackberry on their flight?

The only "electronic device" you have to remove from your bag at the security checkpoint is your laptop. All other electronics should remain in your bag.

I keep mine in my pocket the whole time - even on the flight.

Even through the security checkpoint? In most cases, a Blackberry in your pocket would set off the metal detectors and potentially subject you to a round of inconvenient extra screenings.

Other than security, it's fine to just keep it in your pocket or wherever. Going through security, a Blackberry or cell phone can stay in your bags or go in a bin with other miscellaneous items. No special handling is required.

Not necessarily true. Full-size DVD players (like the ones you use in your home) and full-size gaming consoles (such as the PS3, but not the PSP, for example) are explicitly required to be removed from carry-on bags for screening. In addition, some airports or even individual screeners want other times, such as anything with a hard drive (including some camcorders), removed for screening. They may make such announcements as you are going through the line, so be alert for and follow any instructions along those lines.

If you have any questions about whether or not something needs to come out of a bag, just ask. It can be worth it to save a bit of a hassle.
