The last time we went to Orlando I used an old phone and bought a pre paid sim card before we went. It worked really well for me and was very cheap.

At the moment I have a blackberry, and like the idea of being able to use a few helpful apps whilst over there. problem is.....

I don't want to use my regular number. I am self employed and even when I tell people I am away and go through everything with a fine tooth comb with them, before I leave there is always some-one who tries to contact me when I'm on holiday. The work I do doesn't have emergencies so it is always just some-one who wants to know something now just because. I really don't want this to happen as I end up thinking about work then and it takes an eternity to switch off again.

Also if I use my sim and my contract, I never feel confident that I am only using the free wifi

I'm not bothered about using blackberry only features messenger etc but I don't know if I would need to find a blackberry only type sim any-way regardless of not using those things?

My sister has offered to let me have an old phone of hers to use, but it doesn't have a camera, picture screen etc so it would do, but I would prefer a smart phone or my blackberry option if possible???

Has any-one got any suggestions please?

If you can borrow a phone the Three prepaid SIM is a bargain. You get 3000 texts, 600 mins & unlimited data (capped at 25GB in US)

Just now you can get it for £12.07 on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Three-Adapt...UTF8&qid=1407437477&sr=1-1&keywords=three+sim

Buy at the right time and it keeps dropping as low ad £8.43 http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/Three-Adapters-Preloaded-minutes-Unlimited/product/B00ABJ0WA8

You use it as you would in the UK, only downside is it costs to ring US numbers but all your UK calls & texts are covered.

We all have Three contracts, just can't fault them. Been with them for a few years now, their service just gets better and better.
We can now use our monthly allowance in 16 different countries http://**********.co.uk/Discover/Phones/Feel_At_Home

I keep forgetting I can't post the link, no idea why but you know it.

We used them in the US last month for 16 nights, didn't cost us 1p over our standard monthly payment. Matt came close to using his 1GB data allowance but his fingers are almost attached to his phone.

wow three's roaming does seem a bargain, and my contract is up for renewal next month hmmmm looks like im going to pay their shop a visit

Hi, we got 3 pay as you go sims for our trip (we are here at the moment) we are staying at CBR and it's connected to AT&T and got a decent 3 bars (5 in the airport) internet speeds seem reasonable, and didn't have to make any alterations to my phone book. If it makes a difference I use an iPhone 5s and my wife uses a samsung galaxy s4. I'm not planning on using my phone a massive amount, but it could easily run up an unknown bill using normal contract. So all in all, £15 to call each other and be able to call people back home with updates, bargin!

Out of interest would these Sims work in the US when used in a UK iphone currently connected to O2?

I have no idea with iPhones, is it locked to O2? If its unlocked then don't see a problem.
