Does anyone have a review of this? My ds(8) loves stingrays and wants to try this?? And, we since can't decide, we are thinking about it! :rotfl: How deep is the water? Is it really crowded? Would you try it??? :rotfl: Thanks for any insight!

which port is this offered at?

We did this on our cruise July 31-Aug 4. I thought it was fun and worth the money, my DS-6 loved it!!! The stingray area is part of the beach...the water at the shore is only inches deep but you can snorkel out to the fence line and it's about 10-20 feet deep. It is a large area so although there were a lot of people it didn't feel crowded. You can come and go as you please from the stingray area to the regular beach but they only do the feedings and photo ops once. For the feedings everyone lines up (on your knees) parallel with the shore...women and kids facing the water, men about 2 feet out facing the beach. Then the workers come down the line passing out the "food" and the stingrays are all over ya!!!! Just swimming/snorkeling with the stingrays was a lot of fun too...their stingers have been removed. Lunch was also better than I expected. A choice of hotdog or hamburger cooked on a grill with a bag of chips, a choice of soda (in a can) and a big cookie. The ride over to Blackbeards Cay is about 30-45 minutes and it was very hot for us...bring some water/drinks to enjoy on the boat and also on the beach. FYI...there is a gift shop but go early if you want "stingray" souvenirs (refrig magnets etc.) beacause they sold out quickly on our trip but they had lots of pirate type stuff available. Have fun!!! :earsgirl:

Where is BlackBeard's Cay located? Is it near Nassau or Freeport? Sounds like a great excursion!

I'm not familiar with Freeport so don't know how close it is but we docked at Nassau...this is a DCL excursion. I think it's fairly new because I wasn't able to find out much info about it beforehad so I didn't have high expectations but we thoroughly enjoyed it.

My DH & I did this in Apr 2005. It was a lot of fun and am looking forward to doing it again in '07!! It is at the Port of Nassau, then about a 30 min ride to another island. We enjoyed getting our own pictures and video of the stingrays. My sister is excited and can't wait to join us on the next trip. The lunch was much better then expected and is included in the price of the excursion. (and the bathrooms were clean also!)

Thanks for all your responses! pirate: This sounds like it will be great for my ds that has never snorkled before (he can swim though)! pirate:
Also, cindrelly31, what did you do with your video camera while swiming? I would love to take mine, but worry it will get lost! :rotfl:
