Black Friday Wasn't So Black At All!

I went to some of the well-known crazy Black Friday stores and found them to be pretty darned civilized! :teeth:

Anyone else have a good Black Friday shopping trip? :)

Me! I just posted in the poll but store employees at Target, Kohl's and Sears were very pleasant today. I had a good day so far. Maybe it was the weather!

That's right - could be! The weather here is beautiful today. :sunny:

We had a good day too. Other customers and sales people were all polite and friendly. I really enjoyed it for a change.

People in traffic were showing cranky behavior, but everyone in the stores were even tempered. :)

I wish I could agree. I was at Kohl's at 4 am this morning, and it didn't open until 5:00. When the doors opened, everyone started running toward the $49 personal DVD players. There were 30 in the store, and the first guy to get there grabbed 8 of them, a few others grabbed 3 or 4 a piece, and most of the people ended up with none. An older woman got slammed into a display rack where she fell and got stepped on and had to be taken away with either bruised or broken ribs. Not sure what eventually happened to her. It was just ridiculous. Kohl's should have put a limit of one on those things and it would have never happened. I bet the guy who grabbed 8 will be selling them on ebay by nightfall. :sad2:

I got every single item I was after. I hit seven stores in about two hours and finished all my shopping!

Our Wal-Mart was super. Last night there was a major goof up with the amount of merchandise that was sent and pallets containing stuff that wasn't on sale and merchandise mismarked and the people who numbered the pallets put the wrong number on every single pallet. Regardless of the personal hell that every person who worked there was going through there was not a single grumpy or uninformed person!
When I went to Goody's, I was waiting in a line, and all of a sudden a manager came up to me and escorted me to a little used register, gave me an added discount and said Merry Christmas!

This was the most unstressed, happy time I have had in a crowd in a long time!

I just read your post Jeafl, it is horrible people are so rude. I think every business should do what our Wal-Mart does.

Everyone is allowed in the store, you can pick one item to stand near(you have to stand like five feet away.) ,People must form a line behind you-there can be a line on either side of a pallet,no one may touch the pallets until exactly five.

At five you can take what you want but you can't shove or push. They had policemen standing near our DVD players and no one even tried to push or get nasty.

I agree when there is a popular item I think there needs to be a limit of one or two per person.

were you not by the toy dept. b/c that was insanity! ToysRus, Target, Walmart,.... Luckily, no hair pulling or cart lifting took place.

Funny thought, IPods were on sale at Meijer and once the announcement of the Ipods being sold out 1/2 the line thinned out. :rotfl2:

Target and Wal-Mart in this corner. Wild but civil for crowds(was able to grab all 4 HP movies and 4 others between both stores)

But I got a few funny looks about the HP movies :)
