..... we didn't go out this year. I just didn't have it in me. I have to be at work at 8 am and there just wasn't anything I saw that I couldnt' live without. Since I started working I haven't had a Black Friday off. I do miss it. Maybe I'll try to get it next year.

So here I am in my kitchen. Warm. Hot cup of Coffee. Dis'sing. It all feels so wrong. :teeth:

Don't feel bad. I'm off today and planned on going out but I slept through my 4:30 alarm, woke up at 6:00, looked at the crowds on the news and decided there wasn't anything I had to have either. So here I am joining you for coffee (raises mug :teeth: ).

Cheers! :surfweb: My DH left for work today at 4:40am. He works for Staples and there was a line of 50 people and a tent out front of his store. I just stayed in bed and watched the news covering all the area malls and Best Buy stores. While it seems like it could be fun, this seems like a better idea for me. Especially since I have to work at 9. :guilty:

I have never gone....but this year, I had a reason. So, I went out this morning at 5:30 and just got home. I got what I was looking for...a Nintendo Wii for my son. I got the last one!!

Good morning! :surfweb: Count me in!

I don't have to work today (YAY!) but I do have DS10 home so that kills any thoughts of shopping. Besides, the things he wants aren't on sale so there didn't seem to be any reason to go out. I ordered a few things from Lands End yesterday, but that's it.

DH is working, and unfortunately some bonehead crashed into the back of his truck this morning (he called me at 4:30 AM to share that little piece of news), so no telling when he'll be home. In a twisted way I am glad the guy hit the truck and not DH's personal car, but NOT getting hit would have been better! He delivers product to grocery stores - it's a BIG truck. I don't see how anybody could just plow into it. OK, I have a feeling the guy was drunk. DH didn't know many details but I am sure the legal department and the police will sort it out.

Stay safe, everybody!

I didn't go either, but not because I didn't want to be out there shopping. I tore my meniscus on Wednesday so I am in a imobilizing brace and on crutches. I didn't htink I woulod fare to well out there in the crowds like this!

Slackers fo sho

Been out and now back getting ready for work also did some on-line yesterday as well.

I have to get a headlight bulb replaced on my car. I'm hoping the VW dealership will have a light crowd today because everyone else is shopping. I really need to get off the DIS and get moving.

I usually go out for at least one or two things every Black Friday. This year was supposed to be the same....I even sat down yesterday morning and wrote a small list of things I wanted to pick up. But when I woke up at 5:00 this morning, I quickly decided there was nothing on my list worth getting up for! So, here I sit....wrapped in my very warm bathrobe, sipping on a cup of coffee, and Dis'ing! Everyone else is still asleep (except the dog!), so it's a very nice treat for me to just have some quiet time to myself! :surfweb:

i got up about 1/2 hour ago, got the laundry ready for the laundrymat, and am just waiting for DD10 to get home from her dads so I can take her to the doctors then off to the laundrymat.

I am going to stop at walmart, but not for any gifts, lightbulbs, can of primer etc... hopefully by the time i get there it wont be toooooo bad

I have no desire to be out there with the mob. The look in some of these shopper's eyes scare me. :scared: :teeth: It's like they are in a trance of some kind.

The only places I want to go today are Walgreens for their buy 1 get 2 wrapping paper and Borders. Walgreens doesn't open until 9am anyways so there is no rush.

:rotfl2: I feel the same way! There is no deal good enough for me to have to fight that.

I do have to stop by Target today to pick up some regular items that I need--no big sale stuff. I'm hoping that this afternoon, it might be calm enough for me to venture in.

slacker here! I've always gone with a list of things to buy. I'd check all the ads for the specials for early morning and get up early and be out there but this year there were no ads in my paper :confused3 There were ads but none that said you needed to be there by a certain time for extra off. So I just wasn't motivated :rolleyes2

I'm working (retail) in half an hour, so I just couldn't bring myself to get up any earlier than absolutely necessary. I fully expect I'll be homicidal by 11 am, so I probably won't be doing much shopping later, either, unless it's online from jail. ;)

I have never, ever, ever, ever gone out on Black Friday and have not even been tempted. It sounds like one big MESS!! I guess there has never been anything that I really needed, wanted, etc that wasn't available at any other time. I refuse to get pushed, shoved and crowded for any sort of item.

Good Morning all. I'm another slacker! I haven't gone out on this Friday in a LONG time.

My mom & I used to before I had kids and the first couple years but it got to be more of a pain taking my DD along as she got older. We were never ones to be super duper early though.

This year there was nothing we really wanted so had no need. I just woke up at 7, just fed the kids who are awake breakfast (2 of them are up & 2 are still snoozing), got my tea and decided to DIS!

I'm in no rush....besides I am usually one of those crazed people who shop the stores when they are open until Midnight closer to Christmas as I can go after the kids are in bed. Much easier to bring their presents in the house & hide them right away.

::yes::

I'd rather stay home and clean! :crazy2:

I've never gone out either on Black Friday. But I do send my husband and my mom goes out so I call her and direct her towards gift ideas for the kids. lol

Well....I'm not shopping, but not exactly slacking either. :teeth:

I work IT support for a retail company, so we are on an "All hands on deck" kind of day today.

There was nothing I absolutely had to have, so I did not get up any earlier today.
