Hi All,

We’re planning a trip for Jan this year. Normal we go in early Nov so Black Fri deals didn’t work for us but this year they could. Does anyone know what type of deals there were last year? We’re looking at 4 or 5 day park to park tickets or APs (I’m assuming APs will probably be cheaper or same-ish price). Thanks!

I think last year it was discounted tickets bundled with a hotel stay. Pretty sure it was Cabana Bay. I don't remember the exact numbers, but it looked like a good deal. I have heard mixed things about upgrading from the discounted tickets to an AP (if that's something you want to do), but from your post I'm not sure if you were looking to have an AP because you were going to come back or you just think an AP might be less expensive than the ticket you wanted.

It's possible we may come back in Nov 2022 but I'm not banking on that completely. But it also looks like the AP will be less expensive than the 4 or 5 day tickets so I think we'd just buy the APs not try to upgrade. I've only vaguely paid attention to Black Fri deals enough to know that they happen, not what they've been - I assumed they included APs but maybe not.

It usually is less expensive to get the lowest level AP than to get a 5-day ticket. I don’t think I’ve seen APs in BF deals. Some of the BF packages are very attractive, though. I remember seeing one for Cabana Bay with four day tickets that was about the regular cost of the tickets, making the stay at CB essentially free. I asked about your desire for APs because if you’re just pricing the tickets, APs are equivalent to 4-5 day dated tickets, but if you’re pricing a one-time vacation, the BF deals might save you quite a bit. Of course, APs will always be less expensive if you’re planning multiple trips. Since APs are unlikely to increase in price between now and BF, it makes sense to wait and check out the BF deals because you can always buy your APs later.

This can be a very good strategy, especially if they offer extra months on the annual pass. We go every year at Thanksgiving. The first year we became passholders, they had a deal for annual passes where you got 6 additional months. Between the covid shutdown and the extension deal offered last year (an added 3 months), we will be able to get our 4th Thanksgiving week trip in after only paying for 2 annual passes. Pretty sweet. Saved us about $2,800 vs buying the 14 day park hopper tickets that we would've bought.

While they didn't have this last year (likely due to the Pandemic and reduced capacity) but every year I'd get my tickets through a Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal on visitorlando.com. They would have 10% off their already (slightly) discounted tickets.

Last year's Black Friday special was awesome! It was 40% off of a 4 night stay. I forgot the exact price that we paid, but it was right around $1,000 for us 2 adults and our 8 year old to stay at Cabana Bay with the park to park tickets for 4 days. We are Disney people and had never been to Universal, but the deal was too good to pass up. Their plan worked and we are hooked and just finished our 3rd trip since February.

with the huge price increases @ WDW, going to guess U won’t feel the need to start offering any huge BF discounts.

Well, other than packages to get folks into the value resorts.

Sea World’s used to be really great, no so the last few years.

Where and when will the Black Friday deals be posted?
