:confused3 Does anyone know if you can put things on layaway and pick them up on Black Friday for the discounted price? just wondering, I've never shopped BF before...it sounds like it's nuts out there on that day. Barb

I went Sunday and put 2 Gameboy Adv. SP's on layaway. The girl in electronics told me that they would be going on sale Black Friday. She said to come in and get them from layaway that morning and I could get them for the sale price. She did say I would have to be there before the sale ended at 11 or whenever.

Depends on how its on sale- ALL the Walmart doorbusters (5-9am stuff) are special items that have seperate UPCs which means they are different items than the daily sold things (ie the cabbage patch kids for the sale are different than the ones we have today)- THey are all "pulled" UPCs which means they will not ring up before 5am-

MOST stores WILL NOT match the everyday item with the special items price (because its like trying to get Granny Smith apples for the Red Delicious price- Different things, different UPC codes but still Apples...)

If its just in the ad for the week (which means 99% of the time it will not be any different than it is now ie price, quanity etc) Yes you can layaway it just fine (ie Uno Attack) I havent seen all my stuff for the ad in person yet but it seems that even our weekly specials stuff- LOTS of it is special items (lots of value packs- Like the Dora house has an extra room of stuff with it)

I believe the whole ad starts tuesday morning (besides the fri only stuff) but I'm not 100% sure

Momto2inKC, which store did you put the SP's on layaway at? How much will it be going on sale for? I'd like to get one for DD for Christmas.....

At Wal-Mart, they will be $49 on Black Friday. I also wanted to note, that not all stores are getting in seperate shipments for Black Friday. My store told me that the ones on the shelf are the same bar codes as the ones that will be on sale. It might depend on the stores individually when it comes to that.

Are all the Gameboy Advance SP going to be $49.00?? - I thought I saw it was a special Spongebob one that was on going to be on sale Black Friday. (maybe I need to look again, LOL!!)

I already have a Nintendo DS on layaway but I haven't seen any specials on that one.

I believe Toys-R-Us is the only store that carries the Spongebob one. I can't remember seeing it in thier black Friday ad, so i'm not sure if it's going to be on sale. They do have the bundle on sale this week at TRU (the Spongebob GBA SP, starter kit, 2 in 1 game) for $109.97, which is $30 savings.

Thanks - I got my Black Friday ads mixed up I guess - I went back and saw in the Walmart ad the Gameboy Advance SP are all on sale - YAY - I think I'm going to get one and put it on layaway before Black Friday and then go and get it out that day before the sale ends.

Typically, items ALREADY ON LAYAWAY are not eligible for adjustments, especially for BF pricing. I'm sure the terms will be spelled out on the ads in Thursday's (Thanksgiving Day) newpaper inserts.

However, I have read that Walmart automatically adjusts layaways for price changes, not sure how they will handle BF sales on items already on layaway.

The Wal-Mart stores in our area do price adjustments on regular layaways if items go on sale or the price drops (not including clearance). For the black Friday items (if you have the exact item on clearance) you have to take it off layaway that morning if you want the price adjusted and buy it then.

TRU, Walmart, and Target are all having the Gameboy's on sale. Each is a good deal. Walmart is the cheapest, but it comes w/ nothing. I am heading to Walmart in hopes of getting one too. I don't need all the accessories as DS has them. He lost his previous GBA SP on our last WDW trip. He either left it in the rental car or on the plane.
