Black Forest Cake?

I have been searching and searching for a simple and easy recipe for making Black Forest Cake using box cake mix and frosting from a tub. All I can find anywhere are recipes on how to make the cake from scratch. I don't have the time or desire to make it from scratch.

Has anyone made it before who can tell me what I will need to make the cake and how to arrange it?

I'd use chocolate cake mix for the cake, cherry pie filling for the middle and whipped topping. The darker the chocolate, the better. If all you can get is devil's food, that would be OK. I'd bake it in 2 9 inch cake pans. then after the cake is baked & completely cooled, put one layer on the cake plate. Pipe a circle of whipped topping around the edge, put cherry pie filling in the middle. (the whipped cream edge will keep the cherries from falling out.) Put the other layer on top of the cherries, frost the sides & top with whipped topping. You can put more cherries on top.

Not exactly the same as traditional black forest cake, but a pretty good version of it!
