Black circle on Envelope-Why?

Does anyone know why this black circle is always on the envelope when I post?

It means you posted on that particular thread.

I'm not positive,but I think it's to mark the ones you've posted in so that you can come back to them if there are new posts. Of course, for some reason whenever I post it subscribes me to that thread ~which is cool, but it's never happened on the other board similar to this one that I was on for something else. Hope that helps!

If you want to disable the automatic subscription to threads you reply to you can set the option. I would assume you could set this for other boards that use the same software.

Goto to User Control Panel.
Choose Options
and find the option that says

Use 'Email Notification' by default?
Using this option emails you whenever someone replies to a thread that you have participated in.

and check yes or no for the option.
