Last January while at WDW we stopped in the American Pavilion for lunch. We were surprised to see this on the menu...

Southwest Black Bean Burger - Monterey Jack, corn salsa, chipotle mayonaisse, lettuce & tomato with grapes, carrots or french fries

It was delicious. Much better than the veggie burgers we get at other WDW or DLR sites.

Last month our son, who lives in SoCal and has an AP, was getting the run of the mill veggie burger at MK and mentioned to a CM there how great the one was in EPCOT. She got all excited and said they have that at a place in CA, but she didn't know the name.

I've looked at a few sites with menus of all the food places in CA and MK and can't find any that have this listed.

I know this isn't exactly gourmet dining, but we're going to be in DLR in July and was wondering if anyone had ever run across this menu item there? I know sometimes things are available that are not listed on the menus, but those are usually really unpopular things, like the veggie burgers! Or was the CM just thinking of another dish?

As far as I know all the veggie burgers at the counter service are the same at both parks. Have not heard/read about a black bean burger.

I remember they *used to be* the black bean burgers (which was NOT advertised on the menu and was a huge, negative surprise when I expected a *veggie* burger, not a black bean with cumin burger), but last time I had a veggie burger they were the "malibu" ones (that I actually quite LOVE) with chunks of vegetables in them.

Now that one at Epcot sounds good, because it's geared towards that specific burger with the condiments. I'd like that. But if they just say "veggie burger" I don't want cumin. We don't like being surprised by serious spices! :)

I had the veggie burger at Taste Pilots Grill in CA last week and was underwhelmed. Even with the fixings it just was not great.
But, I was happy to see they actually had one! It was the only menu we saw that offered one. Not saying there are not others...we just didn't see any.
