BL4 Whatcha' Eatin'

wow, I missed this thread....I love talking food menus, as my buddy alreadyexcitedgrammy will attest from my emails, lol.

Yesterday I had:
(OK, I am not a breakfast eater, lol, just fruit if I am lucky)
OJ--2 pts
black coffee
Fresca as I am running out the door

Lunch was a WeightWatchers chicken quesadilla--these are really good--4 pts

Dinner I still wanted mexican, so I made tacos with ground chicken. Mission brand has Multi Grain tortillas that taste great and have 5 grams of fiber. The tortillas are 2 points each, and I ate two. With the chicken taco meat, then topped with fresh chopped jalapenos and onions. YUM. I think about 9-10 pts? I meant to stick to one taco, but they were so good! I still stayed under my points for the day. :)
Gin and tonic--3 pts ;)

Hope you don't mind me chimming in......I'm not part of the BL4 group.

I also MUST plan ahead in order to do well. I also have been measuring my food, especially important for olive oil, cereal and pasta.

Here's what I ate yesterday:

About 7 almonds.

1 cup Kashi Heart to Heart Cereal
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 banana
1 cup 1% milk
1 cup coffee (with a little bit of the milk)

2 slices whole grain bread
3 oz. chicken breast
1 cup organic mixed greens
celery sticks
1 orange

1 turkey burger
1 whole wheat pita
mixed vegetables (Kirkland frozen stir fry) with a little bit of olive oil
1/4 cup raw red onion
1/4 avocado

Throughout the day I drink black tea and green tea (both unsweetened) and I also drink 8 -12 glasses of water daily.

Tonight's going to be difficult, too. I'm meeting some friends at Abuelo's (mexican). Chips & salsa are my downfall. I've looked at their menu, and have a general idea what looks good, but it will be that basket of chips staring at me from the center of the table! :scared:

Well, I didn't do too badly. I ate too many chips, but, I chose a meal that was like fajita on a skewer. I did not come with the tortillas, cheese, sour cream, guacamole side stuff. It was delicious. The chicken had such a good flavor.

Today, so far, I've just had a Starbuck's skinny mocha. I'm going out later to shop and see a movie and then have dinner. I don't know where we're going yet. Have a good weekend. It's a long one for me. I'm off on Monday.

Mickeefan - on the spaghetti squash, I just cut in half, scoop our seeds -invert into micro safe dish with a 1/2" of water and microwave until tender (depends on size 20-30 min). Once it is done, take a fork and pull from one end to the other through the squash and "release" the strands.

I generally do add veggies to my spaghetti sauce, whatever I feel like - I am a "so-so meat eater" and even thought the italian brat I used the other night was chicken (from Trader Joe's) sometimes I just have the after "stomach issue" with some things therefore I skip em ..............

but I do absolutely like the apple chicken brats from TJ's - mmmmmmmm.

My DH is on a cooking binge this weekend (nice huh) anyway, he is going to make venison roast (he found a good recipe using apple juice that he always makes) and also chili (once again he will use venison)- so I say - go for it :thumbsup2 My brother is a bow hunter and for just the processing fee I get lots of venison - "grain" fed ones from our area.

next time I cook, I am making brown rice with onion, celery, and carrot - cooked in chicken stock (I use lo sodium-chicken boullion) sometimes, I add breast chicken meat. It is YUM!

when i need to feel naughty i like to take fat free cheese with a tortilla, salsa and fat free sour cream.... ummmm so good... melt the cheese and dip it in the salsa a sour cream!! Yummy!!
