Hey everyone, I just came on to post that I am getting back in the game! My DH's company has a program called Lean You and I goofed up and didn't get it done this year, but next year I am doing it! If you complete all the tasks you get $400 (up from this years $250) and you get entered into a drawing for a Disney trip. Oh, I just read that on an email my DH sent me and I am in! I decided I will use that $400 and go on a weekend getaway with the family to Wisconsin Dells. I LOVE those waterparks!

But most importantly I am just tired of being sick, tired and overweight. And especially when I thought to myself what am I getting out of this, I couldn't come up with any solid reason. I am also sick of people's preconceived notions about me, and I am tired of squeezing into things, I am tired of my low self esteem and self loathing talk, I am tired of being embarassed, I am tired of constantly looking around to see if I am the biggest person, I am tired of Making up excuses to find ways to eat out. I am tired of "hiding" my food intake. Oh my, I have so many of those...

Now... on to a positive note, I look forward to sitting in an airplane seat without an extender, I look forward to being proud of myself, I look forward to feeling pretty, I look forward to being proud of my accomplishment, I look forward to inspiring others, I look forward to having more fun with my family, I look forward to helping my family get more fit, I look forward to going to Disney and having my picture taken and WANTING my picture taken, I look forward to finally riding Astro Orbiter (something I have wanted to do, but afraid of the seats), I look forward to all of the new friends I will meet, I look forward to a life of healthy habbits. I look forward to feeling energetic, I look forward to the Ooooh's and Aaaah, and WOW's from people, I look forward to seeing my Dad proud of my weight loss (he is very worried about me, I know), I look forward to running in a race (preferably a Disney race), I look forward to joining Tae Kwon Do with my kids and getting a black belt, I look forward to being fit and fabulous and enjoying my 40's!

Wow, that paragraph is so much longer! So many things to work towards!

Now... what will I do.... For right now, this week I will
1. choose to eat foods made at home (except the drive home on Sat. and Sun.)
2. Start an online journal on WISH. I think the accountability of posting what I am eating will help.
3. Join in on the "massive" thread
4. Exercise M-F (20 minutes of aerobic activity and a 1 mile walk with the dog)
5. Start my weight loss scrapbook

OK, If you are still reading... THANKS! I just needed to vent, dream and plan.

:grouphug: Vija......we are in this together!! we gotta focus on the baby steps.....my first one is make it through this week without sugar-snacks and drink my water. my first goal is to be at a specific weight by the end of November...4 lbs from my last WI. baby steps....we can do this!

i'm listening to the no cake mantra too ::yes::

good quote!! i needed to read that b/c I...who always say don't weigh in more than once a week....had to run to basement this morning first thing for laundry and stepped on the scale, had a great OP day yesterday and did a spinning class....and was up 3 lbs! i know i fluctuate up to 4 lbs but it was disheartening. my jeans were snugger than normal this morning too, so i need to concentrate on drinking my water again!

geekerbell -- stay strong!! do you have good supportive running shoes for your cardio walking?

oh yea -- GIRLS TRIP!! -- another reason to stay on target........

Vija - Great post. I think just by writing your plan and goals out will make you want to do it even more. I think I will start journaling also. I need to focus more. I have 2 doctor's appointments the first week of December and want to show a loss.

Good Luck!

Sabrina

Hey Everyone!

I had a really hectic day yesterday and I must admit I emotionally ate! I had some trail mix which is not that bad but then I had two mini candy bars! Ugh! Yesterday I realized I lost my cellphone and I spent the whole day calling everywhere that I was over the weekend and of course no one had turned it in. So needless to say I was upset (not the fact that I lost the phone but the pictures and the phone numbers in it I think is what upset me the most and having to shell out money for a new phone) and I went back to my old ways of trying to comfort myself with food. Thanks for letting me vent I feel better!

Anyway Vija you asked what I am doing to shake up my exercise. Well I dusted off my old exercise videos and I am doing those. I love the BL DVD but I was getting bored with that. Last week I did Tae Bo and Richard Simmons tapes. Richard Simmons is a big cheese ball but you got to love him and his workouts are fun. I also did a strength training video he has and man did that kick my butt!

:grouphug: Vija you'll get back on track. We are all here for you!
 Geekerbell, I know you can do this. I have been where you are. Trying to find the time to exercise and then not sticking with a routine and then when you get back into it your body aches. Just remember every muscle ache is getting you closer to your goal!

Vern congrats on the loss!

I hope everyone else is having a great week!

Michele

just posting b/c this is my hard time of day, i've already had my afternoon snack (trader joe tortilla chips and salsa.......i was going to have one of the mini-biscottis i bought there and saw SUGAR in the ingredients....they will have to wait until next week!)

today was my day-off exercising so spent the day shopping :thumbsup2 i have even gotten a start on my christmas shopping :teeth:

Hey Blue Teamers -

I watched biggest loser last night from my sick bed. I took a turn for the worse, got a bad fever and another trip to the doctor showed that I had a Bladder Infec. What - then the TOM came visiting last night. I almost went to the emergency room thinking it was the other getting worse. But no, just another friend.

Anyway I didn't weight yesterday and this morning I maintained. Not too bad considering. ATleast all of this unsweetened cranberry juice has virtually no calories because it is soooo naturally TART!

Glad to see the losses. I hope to help the team next week.

As I read your post, I confess, I was in tears:sad1: . Why? Because it felt like I was reading something I wrote! I can 100% relate to almost every word and have many of the same goals. Even the same "to do" list for this week!
Oh, my heart ached for your sadness and leaped for your goals and ambitions.

We will stick together and become healthier, happier, and ready to live life!

WE CAN DO IT!!!:goodvibes

Well, I was tallying up my points and realized that I need to post to the thread about what I do for myself.
And I thought...
And I thought...
And I thought...

And I realized that I need some more "ME" time!!:rotfl:

I guess playing around on the internet and reading are the two things I do for me. Posting here has become a way of staying focused on becoming healthier and making better choices.
I also love to read, though apparently don't have authors in common with you ladies. I'm more of a Stephen King and Dean Koontz kind of girl. I am currently in the middle of the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher. If any of you happened to watch the TV series in the spring on the Sci-Fi channel, you would love the books.

 Vija. You can and will accomplish all those goals you have set for yourself. You are already a role model to us. Your positive attitude has helped me numerous times during this challenge. I have a journal here. I think you will find tremendous support there. The people on that board are very nonjudgemntal and giving. I have made some incredible friends.

I had the day off, and I caught a cold. I felt some retail therapy was in order. I got a nice pair of pants and sweater from the MISSES section. I now fit in size 16 slacks. No more Plus sizes here. :cool1: When I started my journey in May, I my size 22s were tight. I was totally geeked about it.

I hope everyone is having a good evening.

Take care,
Beth

I just had a GREAT message to post and lost the darn thing!!!! UGH -

No time to retype - I am thinking of all and CHIN UP everyone - take it one day at a time

I am off to tm - I just relized that ohMom and I are walking 5 miles on Thanksgiving and I thought it was only 3 - I getta my buns in gear and be ready for 5 so off I go...............

:wizard: :wizard: to all for good healthy choices ALL DAY today - ohMom had wise words to remember baby steps.....ONE day at a time and I say keep your eye on the prize - YOU - you will be the winner!

Hugs to all

Morning ladies!!

Well, I made it out for my walk again this morning. That's four days in a row now. Whew!

I have three cakes to bake and decorate for this Saturday (one is a "sleeping beauty" cake I may post if you want to see it). So between that and my real job, I'll be busy, but I will still check in at least every morning.
Thank fully, since I've been doing so many cakes lately, the temptation isn't there as much for a piece of the cake. However, I WILL have to be a little more in control of sampling the new filling flavors I'm making. :rolleyes1

Hope all of you have an awesome day!!:flower3:

Good for you on the walking Geekerbell!!! I am not a morning person at all, but I find that if I don't exercise in the am, then my day is just shot. And its nice to say I accomplished something before a lot of folks have even gotten out of bed!!

I seem to be on a tear, doing really well, keeping my chin up. :thumbsup2 Last night DH tells me he made a few online purchases. Now DD's b-day is coming so I figured he ordered something for her (he did) but he also ordered something for ME!!! A new scale, one that does body mass and all that cool stuff. He said since I have been doing so well, he thought he would get it. Isn't he sweet? Actually, the scale is an interesting thing. It seems to work fine for me, but for DH (who is about 100 pounds more than me) it doesn't work right. It gives him crazy numbers that cannot possibly be right (like 120) Since he is a big boy, we think the scale may be :scared: shot, so he wants the new one too so he can get more accurate weigh ins. It should be here tomorrow. I am only hoping that it is close to what my other scale was, since I would be really bummed if it said I was more than what I have been. Hopefully it says I am less!!!

I know that lots of us are struggling right now, but as ohMom and AEG have said, baby steps, keep your chin up. It will happen, it may take longer than you would like, but you will get where you want to go. There is no time limit on making a better YOU.

Wishing you all a healthy day!!! I'm off to the gym!

Good morning everyone. Just got a few before I have to get ready for work.

Are we having a challange this week? I don't see a post about it & I need every day I can get to get as many things done.

Morning teamies~

Well - today is the first for a long time I "feel" like I am losing a bit. I can tell first in my face - when my "cheeks" feel thinner - I actually think I am on the right track! You got a "indicator" area ???:yay:

DisneyChrista I hear ya - and I am here to CHALLENGE us to stay/stick with your plan this weekend! Yes- we all seem to say weekends are a bit harder to stick to it - LET'S DO IT!

My plan is to make sure I put the amount of water I need to drink on the counter and a few veggies - allowable snacks right by it and that will be my go to place :thumbsup2

Have a good day today -EVERYONE - thinking about us and WE CAN DO IT !!!!

oh my! we have a gain for the second week in a row?? is that right!! or was that two weeks ago!! OHMY!!

i'm not pulling my 'weight' either, i'm frustrated b/c i have been doing well this week and i'm not feeling any losses. I did just buy Dr. Oz' You On a Diet and i'm considering giving it a trial run, i don't do well with restrictive and i wonder how very restrictive it is? if i toss out everything in my house with hydroneated oils or fructose my family will have a cow with a major MOO!

this morning i didn't workout, i did 45 mins on the TM yesterday and had a late night getting to bed. i have several things on my schedule today ;) i'll be thinking of us and my commitment to remain focused and on track!

on another note, yesterday was a really hard day for the no sugar for a week personal challenge. i was just really craving something sweet yesterday afternoon and ended up snacking on more quantity than maybe if i would've just carefully and consciously choosen one sweet. I had a meeting at work and my lead tech who i adore, knows that i like york peppermint patties and laid out an entire bag of the smaller ones on the table for the meeting. thanks. i managed to avoid them and at the end of the meeting it was like i hurt her feelings, then i felt smug, like she brought them knowing i like them and then i didn't eat any, i can't win. she didn't get petty or anything, she just started tossing them into my opened purse! EEK! laughing the whole time as she tossed making baskets into my purse she mentioned, but i know you love these! ok ok ok..... i let her toss about 5 into my purse then i zipped it up. they are in my car, my DD ate one and the rest will just have to wait until next week. now they are an ok small treat, if i just eat one or two, not ten.

at my dinner at church last night i did resist dessert, i brought home a piece of cherry pie for DH and packed it in his lunch today. that felt nice, he'll be thrilled when he opens it up

off to start up with some WATER!

STAY STRONG BLUE TEAM!!

Hey everyone. I am feeling much better today! :goodvibes Still not quite 100% on the mend, but better. Thanks to everyone for their wonderful words of support. it means more to me than you can imagine! I love being part of the blue team, you guys rock!

I have an idea for our team challenge... tell me what you think.

Each of us has our own struggles, and some things come easier to others. For example if we did a water challenge, for some that would be a struggle, and for others they are already doing it so it isn't a challenge. So, for our team challenge I propose that we each come up with our own challenge that we want to conquer. PICK 1 THING to work on. But it has to be something that you have been struggling with and want to conquer. Either PM your challenge to me, or post it here and I will compile the list. There are a couple of days to think on it, and lets get started on Tuesday. What do you think? I say pick 1 thing so you can really focus on conquering that challenge. For me it will be journaling every morsel I put in my mouth. Including the "taste testing" I do when cooking.
