Ok all you losers time to officially get this party started! The teams will be competing on 2, yes count them, TWO fronts. The first is your weigh-in, which ideally you have already gotten accustomed to, the second is the “tougher” part of the competition. And thanks to Jenjolt, I have a name for this tougher part. It is the COW or Challenge Of the Week. :thumbsup2
So……. here is our first official COW. I will post a new COW sometime every Thursday. Each challenge week begins 12:01 am Friday morning and runs till midnight Thursday night. I figure posting the COW on Thursday gives you a little time to “plan” out how best to complete the challenge before the clock starts. Please email or PM me your score by Monday morning of the following week. (So tomorrow’s challenge score is “due” the 13th, although I recommend you pm or email it to me on Friday when you email Brenda your weight.)
If you chose not to do the COWs at all, or only get around to doing a few items on the list that is perfectly fine. You will not hurt your team. The idea is to get you thinking and doing new things on this road to a new you, not to stress you out.

1 Write a letter to yourself explaining why you are staring this journey. Write down all the reason you need and want to lose weight and all the reasons you got where you are in the first place. Be truthful and kind, putting yourself down will not help you accomplish your goals. If you have a brownie weakness, write it, but don't say that you are a big fat pig because you cant not eat a brownie that is near you. Feel free to share your letter or ideas with the group if you wish. (5 points)

2 Take the quiz at www.realage.com (they send you an email with your score). Discuss with the group what your "real age" is verses your birth age (if you wish to disclose), what you are doing right and what you can do to get your "real age" down. If you participated in the summer BL, how has your age changed since then? (5 points)

3 Clock at least 6000 steps 4 times this week (this is where the pedometer from the pre-challenge comes in handy) (10 points for each day you reach goal- max 40 points)

4 Drink 6 glasses of water each day this week (5 points for each successful day- max 30 points)

5 Park in the farthest parking space from your destinations this week (it will really help you if you are counting steps! (5 points each time-max 20)

This thread is for all losers. Just like the Biggest Loser TV show challenges this is the place where you cheer for people not necessarily on your team. This is the place to get to know the other team’s members and make the whole group a big community. Now of course you still have to return “home” from this little utopia, since after all this is a competition. ;)

So Ladies, let’s have a COW!

Thanks for doing this, those are some really good challenges! Can't wait to see how many points I can rack up for the red team!

Just did the realage test and boy is that detailed! can't wait to see my results. It says about a hour after you do it you'll get your results.

I have already done the Real-Age test, and it states that I'm only 1 year younger than my actual age. Probably has something to do with my high BP and high cholesterol, plus the stress from my family which has been non-stop for the last 4 years.

Working on the BP and cholesterol, but what do I do with my family? :confused3 I have started yoga classes and taking better care of myself, so I hope this helps.

Got my results: My real age is 28.8 my "real age" is 28.7 so I am -.1! I really figured it would have me older than I really am.

I did the real age survey and was really afraid it was going to calculate me much older. "Real age" says I am 46.9 when I'm only 45.5....I need to work on that and I believe losing weight and really getting in to an exercise routine will help bring that down--it seems those are my bad areas. One challenge down! Will be working hard to get through all the other challenges! thanks for the support!

So Ladies, let’s have a COW!

My age is 39.3 and my Real age Test came back as 38.7 - It was 35. something the last time I did it, but I had to take out the exercise I had originally been doing since I haven't been faithfully doing that as well as taking vitamins recently. I can bring it down, just need to work on those few things.

Hi Everyone!

I took the Real Age Quiz and I'm just about at my actual age. I'm 52 (in one week) and my "real age" is 52.3. I need to continue to excercise but add more strength training, lose weight ( I have a lot to lose), and get my blood pressure lower. Hopefully all our "real ages" will be less than our actual ages! Good luck to everyone!!:goodvibes

I took the real Age quiz and came up 3 years older than I really am. Was hoping for closer to my actual age but I do realize I need to get more fruits and veggies into my diet as well as taking my vitamins more regularly! I am looking forward to writing the letter to myself...am composing it in my head as we "speak"!
Take good care everyone!

I need to lose weight because I am 30 years old and it is not healthy for me to be at the weight I am at. I want to lose weight because I want to be around to see my kids grow up and to see my grandkids grow up for that matter! I want to be able to travel without worrying if my weight will be a factor in whether or not I will be able to do a certain activity. I want to be able to play with my kids while they are still little. I want my husband and I to have a more intimate relationship than we are currently able to have. The reasons I got to where I am is because my husband and I are both enablers and we both eat when we are stressed. We had lost a bunch of weight and then my dh decided that he didn't want the career he had chosen and that threw us into a whirlwind of deciding what to do about it, which included us moving to another state and then I got pregnant right away. After my first son was born I lost a bunch of the weight but once he ended up in the hospital all of the things I had learned where thrown out the window. I changed jobs 4 times in a fairly short period of time and then I got pregnant again. While I was pregnant I finally got into the job I had been trying for forever. I am now settled in that job, have had my baby and had my tubes tied, so no more for me and I feel like my life is at a point where I am more settled and ready to focus on my health. I have joined a couple of challenges ( one through work and of course this one!) and I have been getting to the gym and eating better for almost 3 months now (I have lost 30 lbs as of today!) I just need to keep at it and keep doing new and interesting things to keep it fresh. Tonight my mom and I took my dd and ds for a walk/jog...it was great jogging with my 3 year old! I felt like I was helping him be healthy!

I took the quiz...my birth age is 30.3 and my "real age" is 33.9. I am going to try to not talk on my cell while driving (did well today!) and floss my teeth (did this morning) and lose weight (working on it!) and I will try to find an additional vitamin E and C supplement. I am doing well with my bp and eating a variety of foods.

3 Clock at least 6000 steps 4 times this week (this is where the pedometer from the pre-challenge comes in handy) (10 points for each day you reach goal- max 40 points)
I did all the regular walking plus a walk/jog around my moms neighborhood and housework where I was picking up and putting things away all over the house. Deffinitely made the 6000 steps!

4 Drink 6 glasses of water each day this week (5 points for each successful day- max 30 points)
Drank 7 bottles of water so far today!

5 Park in the farthest parking space from your destinations this week (it will really help you if you are counting steps! (5 points each time-max 20)

Parked in the farthest spot away from my work today!

So Ladies, let’s have a COW!

We can do this ladies!

These are all great!!!!

I have done the survey on RealAge. My biological age is 33.6 but my "realage" is 36.8. I expected it to be higher but I am in the process of changing some of that.

Drinking the water will be easy for me because I do that anyways but the 6000 steps....YIKES, I am going to have to push for that one.

In all cases I am really looking forward to these every week!!!!

WOW --I can't believe it --> I actually hit the 6000 steps yesterday!!!

I just took the quiz. I was put at 4 years older!!:scared1:

I have a lot of work to do.

Just home from vacation and NEED to start the challenges! Looking forward to turning in my points!!

This has been a battle I've been fighting for a long time. 18 years ago I had a total hysterectomy at the age of 33 so I went into menapause early. That was due to ovarian cancer and when I came out of chemo and got my taste for food back I put on the weight. That continued for a number of years and I soon reached over 200 pounds. :guilty: 5 years ago I joined WW online and did good at first losing 25 pounds, but work and stress got in the way and I gained most of it back. 3 years ago I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I got better about exercise but still not as good as I should be about eating. One year ago I made an even better effort and my numbers improved and I was losing weight, but again early this summer other things in life got in the way and my hard work was soon gone. I need to lose the weight to get my body in better shape. I know I feel better and look better thinner. I have to do this for me. I haven't been around the first couple of weeks of the challenge due to vacation but now that I'm back I'm going to do my best to stick with it this time.

Birth age is 51.5, real age is 56.1 so 4.6 years difference. :scared1: Definately due to my weight, and also not doing much exercise. I am the only one who can change this!

I took the realage test and was really surprised -- happy, but surprised! Birth age is 33.5 and the realage was 30.5! I was tickled that I was scored 3 years younger than I really am. It said that I need more variety of veggies, find more "me time" and quit neglecting my muscles. So at least I have things that I know that I need to work on!
