morning teammates! it's a chilly one here in Ohio, but hopefully not tooo cold to keep garage saler's from coming and buying all of our *junk* :thumbsup2

I am a maintainer this week...how about you? i'm ok with that as i had a big week last week and i know i could've done better with my food choices this week. exercise has been minimal too, just crazy busy!!

CONGRATS to all our losers for the week!! :yay:

Good morning ohmom and everyone :)

It's cold and rainy here in Indiana, a good day to stay inside. I'm only down .4 for the week but that's ok and I expect a much bigger loss to report next week. I lost over 3 pounds last week and it seems like that's how its been going for me....a decent loss and then a maintain or something like .4. I really can't complain though because I splurged and had pizza this week and told myself when I got on the scale this morning that if it wasn't for the pizza earlier in the week I probably would have had a bigger loss.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Well, I'm up 1.4 pounds this week. I really went off-program last weekend, but have regained control. The hardest thing I've done all week was make myself go to my WW meeting -- but I did, wiped the slate clean, and am now back on track.

This is going to be a tough weekend, food-wise. We are having a birthday party for DSs, complete with two cakes, on Saturday, followed by trunk-or-treat at the church (supper is served as well as the candy!). Then DS#1 actual birthday is Sunday, and he's asked for "tailgating food" while watching the Giants in the afternoon. DS#2's birthday is the following weekend, so more cake and eating out.

Off to Jazzercise class!

I have lost the 4 lbs I gained last week. Very pleased with that....now on to getting more of this weight off! Good luck to everyone! Drink your water!

Sarah

Hey Sarah - I found your 4 pounds (plus a little more!). I am up 4.8 pounds in the last 2 weeks. The trip to WDW got me off track. I didn't worry about my eating while I was at WDW and gained some. But I've been home now for almost a week and have yet to get back on track. Been hitting that Halloween candy we got at MNSSHP! Time to get rid of the remaining candy and those extra pounds!

Don't make me come over there and steal that "only" off your post. Don't make me!!!:lmao:

I know - I know. I had two birthdays last weekend. But I ate cake and stuff at both, which I will never stop doing, and I'm down so it can be done for sure. Have a good week.

I knew it Sarah. I knew it would be right off. Knew it. :lovestruc

Aaaaah MNSSHP!!!! Oh gosh I could watch those boys with the shovels hour after hour after hour. To call a Disney parade sexy - is that taboo. Forget it - that's one sexy parade. Love it!

Hang in there. Here's to a new week!!

I lost 1.5 pounds this week!:thumbsup2

Good luck to everyone!:cheer2:

Yeah Melisa!!! My goodness you're on a roll girl!!! Good for you.

I lost 1.2 this week. Which puts me as a maintain for two weeks (I did put in between those two bizarre numbers that came up last Friday). So very happy with that. And on to this week!

All the best to everyone,

Lisa

Question of the Day - Friday

What time of the day fo you find it most difficult to stay on track? How do you overcome this?

Well I lost this week. I seem to lose and gain the same 5 pounds over & over this year. I have not had a lasting change since December. But I won't let it keep me down. I will keep working at it. I will never go back to the 243 pound person I was 2 years ago.

Evenings -- for sure -- esp. after I get DSs to bed. I do my best to account for this in my eating for the rest of the day. I also find that if I keep my hands busy (scrapbooking, organizing a drawer, typing on the computer, etc.), I'm not prone to eating as much as when I'm simply parked in front of the TV.

Typically night time, but anytime I have too much time on my hands isn't a good time either. I literally have to have tell myself not to eat whatever it is I think I need, or I'll drink water, find something to do, or if it's close to bedtime I'll take my book and go to bed. I know I won't eat in bed, so that's a safe place. :thumbsup2 :lmao:

As for my weigh in this week, I'm a maintainer. Had a tough weekend exercise wise. My back was giving me fits, so I had 4 days of no exercise this week. I also seem to be losing and gaining the same 3 pounds lately. Grrrrr.....time to go Jillian on myself. :lmao:

I, too, find it most difficult at night. It is nice to sit and relax in front of the TV and grab a snack. The snacks that sound the greatest to me are not the healthiest for me. A handful of cookies can put me 100's of calories over limits I have set for myself, not to mention a 1/2 can of nuts, chips with guacamole. But I overcome. I remind myself of what I want to look like, what I looked like before, where I want to me in a few months. That's enough for me to put myself in check.

As to the challenge, I know I don't post much. I've never been much of a chatter. I read the posts and can appreciate the efforts that everyone puts forth.

It is being part of a team, even though I am mostly silent, that keeps me going. My losses haven't been the greatest. I've lost 7.6 lbs since we all started this some 6 weeks ago, a little over 14 lbs since I decided to lose weight, another 10 lbs to go. I feel that my weight loss is steady. And I don't know if I could not have done it without being a part of a team, wanting my weight loss to count for something. Being on the Red Team is motivational for me.

So Red Team, let's remember why ...whether that be for you, your partner, your children/grandchildren...why you are doing this? Get motivated!!!

Good Luck this week and Let us all be big losers!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Linda;)

Good morning! I just wanted to share with you one of the things I did to make someones Halloween special for the COW. I bought a package of Halloween cards and sent them to people who I haven't been in touch with for awhile, or people that I knew could use a pick me up. Who doesn't enjoy getting a surprise card in the mail? Last night I had an e-mail from one of the card recipients saying it was a nice surprise to get a card in the mail. I sent some cards out to some older folks who for the most part are alone alot of the time. Some of them went out to people I think about alot and just don't seem to find the time to call. I enjoyed writing the notes in them and it felt good just to make the connection with them again. Sometimes it truly is the little things in life that can brighten your day.

Whose day can YOU brighten today? :flower3:

I know exactly what you mean. I had lost 40, and like you spend about a year trying to lose more, to no avail, but had kept it off, til this summer, when I gained back 17. I've lost 8 of that, and am back under 200, and determined not to go over 200 again. It is a lifestyle change, and I've been at it this time for over 3 years, but I feel so much better than I did when I started. I'd love to be 10-12, but a 14-16 right now feels so much better than the 18-20 I was when I started. I wasn't surprised to have such a big gain this summer, I had stopped exercising almost completely, and was not watching what I ate at all, and fell right back into those old bad habits. Not again. You are doing awesome to keep the weight off. It's so much tougher the closer you are to goal.

For me, it's in the evening, watching tv after my son is in bed. I try to make a cup of tea or ff cocoa instead of eating, and if I journal what I am going to eat, and really mesure it out before I eat it, I do better. Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels, and I try to remember that.

What a great idea. It is always so nice to get a card in the mail.

Well, Lisa, I must us the only word this week. I ONLY gained 0.8 this week, after a totally out of control weekend. I got back on track as of tuesday, and am very happy I didn't gain more. I stopped journalling, and boy does that make me spiral downward. Plus I have been exercising pretty much every morning, and that makes such a difference.

Congratulations to all of our losers!! :cheer2: We are going to be the biggest losers one week, I know it. Hang in there if you maintained or gained. Slow and steady, we're making the healthy changes to our life that will make a big difference over the long haul.

Have a great, losing weekend everyone!

Too funny. :lmao:

But I love that only!!!!

Another vote for evenings as the most difficult time. I try to keep my hands busy with sewing, needlework, etc.

Another thing that works well for me is to occasionally save my workout till the evening. I can't eat while on the treadmill. Of course, the danger is that I'll just decide to skip the workout.

I'm down one. Better than nothing.
How did it get to be week 7 already?????

Dinner seems to be the hardest time of the day for me. My kids do not like my diet food so I have to make different things for them. I haven't cheated at all but it is tough.

I was downtown Chicago yesterday at the Hersey store. They had these cupcakes that looked so good. I wanted one so bad I managed to get the kids hot chocolate from there and didn't have any. I just needed to smell it...I know sounds weird but sometimes smelling the food helps

First of all congratulations on all your success. You're almost half way there, eh? Wonderful.

Ignore me if you are on a program that you are very happy with. But have you considered just eating whatever you make the kids - just in smaller portions than the past? Or eating the cupcake - drinking the hot chocolate etc and going from there.

(I do realize it might be about eating healthy - but then again healthy can come with some goodies too)

I know I can be an absolute sh!t with all of this. But I really really feel that if you can't keep what you're doing now for the rest of life - well maintaining a loss might be very difficult. Not impossible - many do it of course. But white knuckling a bit.

Please don't think I'm not respecting your accomplishments. They're huge. I just feel very strongly about all this.

Lisa

Evenings are the most difficult for me. With late afternoon, after work, as a very close second.
