Welcome to week 2! How did everyone do? I hope you had a great week and that you are ready for week number 2!

Please make sure to weigh in today and PM your weight and what team you are on to dare2dream or email to brenda@kbelectric.biz. If using email please also include your DIS screen name.

To help our fellow blue teamers out, please share what worked for you this week, and what your goals are for next week. You may be able to help a fellow teammate out with information and inspiration! Let’s help each other out!

Now a question for you… What can I as your captain do to make this a better experience for you? Do you like the personal replies back? Do you like it better with quoted material, or straightforward answers back? I’ve done it both ways on week 1, so let me know what you like, and need.

WE have had a GREAT week 1 with a lot of support and information. It was a very active thread, let’s see if we can keep it up and even add to our post count. Let’s see if we can beat 195 posts!

I lost 2 pds this week and was so encouraged to see the scale moving in the downward way. This week, I focused on getting my water in and tried to each more fruits and veggies and watched my portions.

I loved the reading the posts this week and getting to know each other. I think you are a great captain and either way you reply works...I say do what is easier for you.

I bet we can beat that post number this week.

Hi everybody! I lost 3 lbs this week!!!! I am so excited! :dance3:

Congratulations TammyNC!:yay:

What went well: I drank half water and half diet soda this week. I also watched my calories and made some lower fat, lower calorie substitutions. I have an addiction to ice cream so what I did was buy some ice cream cones (20 calories 0 fat) and bought Breyers fat free ice cream. I found that using a cone kept my serving size down and yet I was satisfied (the fat free ice cream is quite yummy). If I made it through the day without falling off the wagon I rewarded myself with some ice cream after dinner. I didn't feel like I was cheating myself out of anything and I fell well within the allowed calories/points.

My goal for next week: I need to drink more water and I am going to try to get a pedometer over the weekend and walk at least 3 times next week.

Princess Vija: I like either way. You are doing a great job! :worship: There is no way that I could have kept up the way you did. I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone and realizing they are having the same challenges. It is great support.

I am looking forward to our continued success! GO BLUE TEAM!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

I lost 6 pounds this week. I can't believe it - I'm beyond excited.:yay:

I personally love the personal replies. It's great motivation.

I hope everyone had a great week. Off to PM Brenda.

Congratulations to you losers!!!

I had a small loss this week of 0.2. Not bad considering TTOM is this weekend.

Last week I focused on getting my water in and starting a strength training routine.

This week I plan to add cardio to the list.

I haven't been tracking calories but I have been keeping track of what I have been eating. I really think the lack of exercise is my biggest issue.

I'm off to fill up my water and I'll check back in later.

Happy Friday!!

Sabrina

Congrats to all!!
I am the same this week, but I knew I would be. With dh leaving unexpectedly and 'lady stuff' it was not a good week.
I will do better for my team next week! :cool2:

Hi guys.

Gained .6 last night :(

They told me it was normal after a big loss last week (13 lbs due to sickness) but I made some really bad choices this week - like downing a big load of muffin batter while baking (funny - I control the baked product just fine, its the batter!), and a big feed of pancakes Monday morning instead of walking with about a 3/4 c of syrup! Not good.

Also did not count points consistently - but I wrote down everything I ate and did earn a lot of activity points, so not all bad.

I am really motivated to eat healthy now.

So for this week:

a) I will count points faithfully - no matter how high they get;

b) I will follow training plan faithfully - have to walk around tomorrow raising money for the Arthritis Society (we are charity walkers) and cannot work out Monday as track is closed for an event and I have to take my cat to the vet in the evening.

BUT - thats the extent of my excuses (I am confessing them now).

I will report each workout daily if that is ok.

c) I will limit "big desserts" (non WW) to weekends and then count the points.

And I am determined to check in this time, each week, no matter what.

Princess Vija - just keep doing what you are doing - anything you do is fine, you are a terrific captain and a marvelous motivater.

Have a magical losing day folks. I intend to.

Linda

We all made it through Week 1!:goodvibes

I lost 1.2 pounds. I bought a pedometer last weekend and challenged myself to walk 10,000 steps per day. Yesterday I did 12,500! I also tried to drink more water and less coffee.

I fly down South tomorrow for work. I will be gone the whole week. I am planning on checking in with you-all at least a couple of times. I know I have a challenge ahead with having to eat all my meals out at restaurants. It's harder for me to stay on-track when I am out of town. It's also a struggle to find my way to the hotel exercise facility each day. But, I am determined to do my 10,000 steps!

Way to go Sabrina, Goofy, Tammy and Leamom! I like how everyone has their own plan and doing what works for them. I really like hearing about all the different approaches. Please keep it up.:thumbsup2

Princess Vija - I think you are doing a terrific job! I also think you should do what ever works best for you. Thanks also to our assistant leader!

I hope everybody has a wonderful weekend!

Donna

Congrats to you losers! And don't worry about small gains -- it's part of the territory. All that matters is you stick to it, even if you fall off the wagon. And by the way, I do love muffin batter as well! :)

I lost two pounds this week and am so happy with it! I've started exercising, which for me was a big deal, and I am limiting my 'TV snacks' which is always my weakness. I've switched to lite popcorn or a string cheese snack. And that seems to do the trick.

Congrats again ladies!

Hi everyone,

I posted this on the previous thread before I realized there was a new one. I'm such a noob!!! :rotfl:

I have to report that I'm sorry I let you guys down this week. I actually gained 2 lbs. I've been watching what I eat and have worked out the last 3 mornings, but when I got on the scale this morning it was up 2. Of course (here goes the rationalization) it was a different scale (found one I can use all the time now because I don't own one at home) so maybe that had something to do with it? I'm hoping.

I'm sorry I let you guys down.

Princess Vija, I think you're doing a great job as team leader!!! I don't know how you find time to keep up with the thread, but you're doing excellent at it!!!

Congratulations everyone, if you didn't loose this week - start over again, this is a lifestyle change. We are following the Biggest Loser not the Amazing Race (which I love also).

I lost 2 pounds. I walked on my breaks at work with some of my coworkers. Our building is very long, so we would do the length of the building twice in the morning and then twice again in the afternoon. I drank A LOT of water, I think that really helped me - but it made me visit the bathroom more.

I plan on adding more exercise this week. I didn't do very well on my treadmill last week. Princess Vija, you are doing great - do what is easiest for you.

Good luck this next week - Blue team rocks!

[I tried posting this once but it never appeared so hopefully it's not a duplicate; don't worry, I will eventually get the hang of this board!]

Prior to committing to the challenge and joining, I was watching what I ate. I weighed myself on Monday but didn’t join until later in the week—I’m very pleased with a 1.5 pound loss! This coming week I will definitely be on track by drinking all my water, counting calories and starting a walking program (I love the Walk Away the Pounds tapes).

Friday in our office is donut day…lots of donuts and bagels. I decided today to eat oatmeal and a fruit cup. Since I’ve had experience with weight watchers and other programs I know what I’m supposed to do and eat—it’s just doing it. I have to get it in my head that this needs to be about a change in my lifestyle not just a diet to get to a certain weight loss. So my philosophy going into this is to now look ahead and make better choices. Not just about what foods I eat but how much I eat. I don’t want to deprive myself of something because then I feel like I’m missing it…so I will eat it if I want but I will think “is it worth it?” before I eat it. I am also going to try to look at the whole week ahead of me. If I know that I’ll be going to a clambake next Saturday, then the whole week before I am going to try to make really good choices so I can enjoy the clambake. I feel like I’m all talk—I know what it is I’m supposed to do but I don’t always do it! That leads me to the thank yous…

Thank you to everyone who posted on Blue Team week 1. Your posts were encouraging to me. Sometimes I feel like I’m the only one out there who needs to lose so much weight—and who struggles with it. Sometimes, too, it doesn’t feel like it’s only a physical thing but a mental thing. When I’m doing good and am losing weight, I feel (mentally) on top of the world—positive and confident and strong. But when I have failed at it, I then feel so low—negative and weak and unsure of myself. Reading the posts really helped and I am SO glad I found this thread and all of you wonderful people. Thank you so much for sharing.:flower3:

hypermommy--you are always so good about replying to everyone I just had to reply to tell you not to feel bad! You can do it!! It's a new day and we're all in this together!!!!

Sparky, you are sooooo not the only one out there that needs to lose so much weight. I finally got to see BL last night (boy, I sure do love the internet!!!) and there was only one female on there that weighed as much as me. Boy, that was sure a kick in the butt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Depressing too. But you're definitely not the only one that needs to lose a lot of weight. There's 2 of me walking around in one body over here.

And thank you!!!!! You're right... it's a new day and I have to take each moment on its own. That's what I'm going to do. I'm gonna be good for the next 5 minutes. After that, I'll worry about the following five minutes. Thanks for the encouragement!!!!

I am down 5 pounds:banana:  That means I have lost 10 pounds in two weeks! I have never done that before and the best part it is the time of month I usually have a small gain.

What have I been doing...really focusing on my foods…and drinking large amounts of water instead of diet soda…I would drink at least 3 liters of diet pepsi or ginerale a day…well the past two weeks I have been drinking that in water and just one glass of soda in the night time as my treat. I haven’t been counting calories or sodium intact but that’s because I already have a good idea what most foods are.

This is a copy of my food Journal for Wednesday & Thursday…when I eat like this I do not be hungry…

Wednesday:
Breakfast – boil egg sliced and on one slice of whole wheat bread no butter. An Orange. Activia fat free yogurt. 2 cups of instant coffee with skim milk.
Lunch - Boiled egg in a large garden salad (romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, peppers) Kraft creamy Cucumber Calorie Wise dressing. Banana. 500ml water.
Snack - baby carrots
Supper - Extra Lean Hamburger Pattie. Whole wheat bun with mustard. Garden salad (romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, peppers) Kraft creamy Cucumber Calorie Wise dressing. Activia Fat free yogurt. Glass of diet pepsi

I drank 5*500ml water.

Thursday:
Breakfast – Quaker weight control cereal. Banana. Activia Fat free yogurt.
Lunch - Egg Sandwich(fried egg(in water) & slice of fat free mozzeralla cheese and two slices of whole wheat bread) 1 carrot sliced. Fruit Salad 1 cup (berries&melons). 500ml of water
Snack - banana
Dinner - 1 boneless skinless chicken breast shake n’ baked Large Garden salad (romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, peppers) Kraft creamy Cucumber Calorie Wise dressing. 500 ml of water

I had a glass of diet pespi in the night and I drank 6 * 500ml of water.

I plan on continuing eating this way until I am at my goal weight. As a basic rule I also have veggies with lunch and dinner either a salad or steamed broccoli and carrot…it covers ½ of my plate the other have is for starches and protein. On Saturday’s I have my favorite foods for lunch…pizza, a chocolate bar, and a glass of soda.

Princess Vija - you are a great leader! The personal replies are very cool! It must take alot of time:thumbsup2

Hi Linda - I lost 12 pounds with the stomach flu once and gained 15 back the following week so I think you did great:thumbsup2 ... it only makes sense for you to have a small gain after loosing so much weight to being sick...it's great that you noticed things you done this week though that may have prevented a loss...I bet you'll have a great week this week.

Hi Sabrina - That's great that you are drinking your water and exercising! Not sure if this is something you already do but I was retaining some of my water because of my sodium intake. I went a very long time eating "healthy" and drinking a lot of water but I was eating a lot of frozen entree's and prepacked food...they contained a lot of sodium...once I lowered my sodium intake it made a big difference to my weight loss...

Way to go Blue team...some really great weight losses...Have a great weekend and week!

 You never let us down! We will all have weeks like that...or at least I will:goodvibes The scales are a big thing though. Having the sames scales in the same place, weighing yourself in similar clothing and the same time of day will give you the best results. Have you thought about buying a set? Another option may be if you have the Wii is to buy the wii fit...it is a scale and it also measures you're BMI plus it has some great exercises...I bought the wii so I could have the Wii Fit...I did that when my scales broke instead of a gym membership or weight loss program. Just a thought! I hope you have a great week this week!

Hi everyone,

I lost 3.8 this week. Thank you so much to everyone. There were many times this week that I thought about eating something I shouldn't, but then when I thought about the Blue Team and that I needed to do this for me, I was able to find that strength.

I'm so happy considering that I didn't get fully on board till Tuesday. It took me a few days of cheating to get everything under control.

Last night I was so tempted to cheat because I was so stressed. My TOM is coming anyday. My son had football 6-8, my daughter had cheer from 7-9 and I had a cheer parents meeting from 7-8 (had to leave early to get my son). I don't get home till almost 6pm, so I had to make a mini-snack when I got home so my son was a few minutes late. After I picked up my son we went to wait for my daughter at the High School. When she came out at 9:10, I was on the phone because a friends ex-husband was (who are the parent's of my son's best friend) was supposed to take my son to a football game tonight. I was not having luck getting in touch with him, so I called my friend (who is not really my friend-more like someone I tolerate - She is not the best parent in my opinion and drives me insanse often). As I was listening to her rant about her ex, my daughter came out and wanted to drive (she has her permit). I was trying to get off the phone, but was having a hard time. Instead of waiting for me to get off, my daughter starts the car and is going to pull out. I told her to stop because I could feel the car going forward. She said she was, but apparently she got the gas mixed up with the brake. So she hit the parked car in front of her. Some damage, although both cars are pretty minor.

Shook us all up - my daughter cried last night and then looked really sad today. It really scared her.

Good news is - hubby's plane is coming in tomorrow at 7:50pm. I am taking off tonight and just taking my son myself. My daughter has a High School football game tonight in town, so she is staying after shchool till the game with some friends and then her and her friends are going out to dinner after the game. This buys me the time I need to get back into town to pick her up. Next week can only be better - I'm so looking foward to it :)

Hypermommy - first of all you didn't let anyone down-we will all have ups and downs. Secondly, I think the scale is a big factor. Here is the nerdy Quality Manager coming out...but each scale has a slightly different calibration and therefore one scales reading most likely will not match anothers exactly. I could go on an on but what it comes down to is that every measuring device has some error so to be consistent you should try to use the same device each week (I also make sure I weigh at the same time of day with the same clothes). I bet next week you are going to realize all of the positive changes you have made this week. From reading your posts you did a wonderful job making positive changes!

I dropped 3lbs.... wooohooo!!!

Plan- Atkins
BF- Full fat Whole Milk yogurt with a sugar Free Syrup
Lunch- Low carb Pizza bowl (no dough)
Dinner- Chef Salad with egg, cheese, tom, spinach, bacon, ham and turkey with Regular ranch dressing.

I plan on grilling up some juicey fat steaks this weekend, I usually get a whoosh loss from that. Maybe make coleslaw or brocoli slaw... and Sweet potato fries! DA BOMB!
