Bizarre PayPal package just arrived. Suggestions???

We just received a package addressed to my 3 year old with a paypal/ebay address label from someone we've NEVER heard of. It's full of wrapped christmas presents.

We don't know anyone that would have done this without telling us (except MAYBE my MIL-and she doesn't do ebay) and it has me a little freaked out.

I have a name and a return address but no other ebay or paypal info. Is there any way to track down this seller and find out who sent this????

Is there a receipt with the item number on it? You might be able to look up the item and see if you recognize the seller or buyer. That's creepy.

Was there any receipt or printout at all in it? If not maybe drop a note to the return address listed and ask them to contact you via email with more info.... I hope you get it figured out... that would be very unnerving for me if that happened.

Is the email on the package? If so, email the person who sent it and ask who paid for the item.

Most likely a gift from someone who told the seller to ship it directly to you instead of getting it shipped to them and then re-shipping it to you.

I agree why pay shipping twice??
Is there a card or note inside that may have been overlooked?

You could try a reverse address search

Can you go to Qwest online and type in the name and city on the return address label? Then you could get a phone number maybe.

Once I sold all my 'fat' clothes on ebay, some of which still had tags... the buyer asked me to send it to another person with nothing on or in the package as she was purchasing them as anonymous gifts - I sensed the receipent was on hard times....

Not to say you are on hard times but maybe somebody did something similar for your son - from Santa

Thanks all! The mystery is solved. It was indeed my MIL who has apparently become technologically skilled in the past year and is using ebay. But, even she was a little surprised by it when we called her to ask because she hasn't even sent this seller a payment yet But, here it is nonetheless. I don't know, it's all a little weird but at least we know where it came from.

Wow! what a great seller, to mail the package before payment to ensure Christmas delivery. I had a seller to that once for me. back in the days before paypal, when you had to mail a check or MO and wait. I needed a Garth Brooks t-shirt because I was going to NYC to be in the audience of Rosie. he wa going to be the guest. The friends I was going with all had Garth shirts to wear but me. The seller mailed the shirt as soon as the auction ended, so I could have it in time for my trip. I of couse sent payment immediatley also, but what a God-send he was!

I actually think this is a Christmas miracle that a seller would ship ANYTHING before being paid!!

AND She wrapped everything too! That's service above and beyond and completely odd for ebay! So, looks like my 3 year old dd is getting the dress up dora doll and about 5 of the outfits that go with her-She's gonna love it!

WOW, I can't believe she shipped the items before being paid for them. She was definitely taking a big risk there. To be honest, I'm not at all sure I would have been willing to do that. I can't say for sure but I know I would have thought long and hard about it.
