Bitty baby dolls?

I was thinking of getting DD a AG bitty baby doll for christmas and was wondering if anyone has one or has saw one. I bad me was going to splerge and get her the starter kit, the travel seat and buggy+ a few extras. Is it well made or junky like fisherprice's little mommies.I want a nice doll that will last a few years untils she's old enough for a bigger doll.

My dd got one of the bitty twins for Christmas from an Aunt. It is made VERY well. Best doll she ever had. She loves it and plays with it and I have made it more clothes.

We have the bitty babies and Just Like you AG dolls. They are very well made!!! Very high quality clothing, accessories, etc... We also have the fisher price little mommy doll and think that the doll is well made too. The clothing for the fisher price one is definatly not as well made as the AG clothing, but the doll itself is pretty well made. We don't have any of the fisher price doll accessories to compare though.

My daughter has a Bitty Baby doll and the 2 sets of the Bitty Twin dolls. She never really played with her Bitty Baby doll, but absolutely LOVES her Bitty twins. She still plays with them and she's 9 yrs old. They are truly ADORABLE and very well made! We're also very pleased with the Bitty Baby furniture & strollers. She's had them since she's three and they still look like "new".

If you are looking for a well made, less expensive, doll- check out the Gotz brand. They are a German company and the original makers of the American Girl Dolls. Excellent quality!
You can find them online some places, but they often have ones at Tuesday Morning if you have that store. My daughter has a toddler doll (comparable to the Bitty Twins) that is the Maxi Muffin model. Her AG sized doll is a Precious Day one. I am fairly certain they also have a Bitty Baby type one. They are great quality (even machine washable!)

My mom gave DD a bitty baby twin for Christmas when she was almost three. Mom got it on ebay, and also several AG baby outfits. DD loves her doll, and had her birthday portraits taken with the doll. Mom found a dress for DD that had a matching doll dress. The pictures are adorable!

Thank you for answering my question. We have had two little mommy sets ( one was over $60) and the strollers were junk both fell apart and the twin one was impossible to push. We had a cheap graco stroller last a long time I just want a really nice doll set. I might ebay if I see something nice.

we have the bitty babies here !! While I do agree the dolls and clothing are well made the bitty twins double stroller is about the same as the other baby strollers out there. My niece had the bitty twin double and it broke with 3 months ( wheels kept falling off) my girls had the graco one and we had it for 3 years.

Both of my daughters have had their bitty baby dolls for several years and they hold up very well under constant play My dh's grandmother got them for the girls and she recently passed away so it is really special for them now to have these dolls to remember their great-grandma by.

My DD almost 7 has had Bitty Baby since she was 2. The stroller is still good. She got the Bitty Twins and stroller at 4, and the twins' stroller has fallen apart although it is still usable.

I love the AG products! They are well made, but once the girls are old enough for the historical dolls, I love that they have the historical fiction to go with the dolls.

My son has the Bitty Boy Twin. It's pretty sturdy. He's a typical boy and the little guy has held up well. We don't have any of the strollers, so can't help you there.
One note, if you plan to go the ebay/craigslist route, is that the traditional babies (painted hair) tend to get some rubs on the head, especially the darker haired ones, so just check them out carefully if that's an issue for you.
Like all AG dolls, the hospital will make repairs if needed.

My dd has way too many baby dolls - and so many are so cheaply made - just junk. Her great-grandmother gave her the bitty baby starter set for Christmas - she loves it - it is very well-made, and is definitely her favorite.

DD has this doll, it is very well made. She got it for x-mas when she was two. She will be six this year and still plays with it. She is asking Santa for a big AG doll this year. I told her it was very expensive and she replied. Santa will bring it Mom, don't worry . He always brings what I really want.

DD got Bitty Baby when she was 3. She is now 8 & still plays w/her. Bitty has travelled all over the country w/us & is in great shape. I absolutely loved getting DD & Bitty matching outfits, when she was younger. Bitty is like a member of our family. Bitty even took part in DD's preschool graduation ceremony. Of course, they wore their matching dresses. Now, DD has 2 American Girl dolls also, which are just as wonderful. On Tuesday, we will make our annual girls trip to Chicago to visit the American Girl Store. I think I love the dolls just as much as DD. It is something that we can do together & make wonderful lasting memories.
