Bittersweet Thanksgiving....

This week I have received bad news about three different people. My aunt is in the hospital and my cousin said they don't know how much longer she will live.

My son called Monday to tell me that his best friend's father was in a very serious car accident and was airlifted to the hospital. He is in critical condition.

Today my friend called to say her brother-in-law passed away suddenly on Monday. I felt so sad, I was cooking and prepping for Thanksgiving, and she was planning a funeral.

Both of the last two were in the newspaper. Surreal to read about.

I am so sorry. Thanksgiving is tough for us this year, too. My FIl was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this time last year. We had a big family Thanksgiving at our house. He died in January.

A friend of mine was on a cruise this week and got the news that her house burned to the ground while she was gone. She lost everything.

But we all still have a lot to be thankful for.

Its always so hard to loose someone near the holidays. It just totally takes away the wonderful aspect of the season. Many many

Your poor friend! I can't imagine.....

The year my father passed away, my mother decided that she wanted to cook the Thanksgiving meal, something she hadn't done in a long time. My father had died (unexpectedly) on Dec. 1st. I will always be thankful that he had one last Thanksgiving dinner prepared by my mother.

And yes, I do have a great deal to be thankful for.
